With the change in seasons I have appointed myself Joe Nation's virtual
training partner for the NYC Marathon. This will last until he starts doing
really extended runs. My role will then shift to cheerleader.
I've also begun to incorporate intervals ("wind sprints") into my runs.
I need to drop some of the fat from my diet.

Are you bouncing?
Errrrm...............no(hangs head with shame)
I have a serious feling to get out there and run(or at least walk fast)did I say I may approach a gal pal to do speed walking around a local sports field.
Good news is that the last 4 nights out of 5 I havnt had my usual crisps and chocolate snacks in the evening.Look a little less bloated.
Two words.
Wheat grass.
Killing you with kindness it is not.
Signed up for another 12 dance classes. Told 'em I wanna be in the June recital. That means I'm going to have to practice practice practice.

Well done!!
I have been known to have 'parties for one' consisting of manic dancing after ive had a bit too much to drink.Great way to burn a few calories.
Im intrigued by wheat grass.
Material Girl--
Good for you. Don't splurge on weekends--walk instead. Spring is a good time for walking.
EhBeth--
To boldly go where few will follow you....I'm in awe.
I've just finished a purging 24-hour bug. Small meals will be a necessity for a day or so and if I can take advantage of adverse circumstances.....
If only I didn't like food so much <sigh>.

Double sigh.
...and who's that I see, hoppin' down the Bunny Trail?

R&R involved lots and lots of delicious eating?
Lots of eating, lots of sitting in the car (4 days - two each way, eating mostly junk), and little or no exercise. I leave for New Orleans in three weeks where I KNOW I'll gain at least 5 lbs (probably more).
I left for spring break higher than I'd hope (Unfortunately, I'd found comfort in the snack cupboard during a high stress week prior to vacation) and wallowed for the three days we were in SC.
I'm already down a few pounds from when I got back on Friday, but not nearly where I want to be before leaving for NO. Let's see... 8 lbs in 3 weeks is doable if the stars, moon, sun, family, and work stress are all in alignment. That will get me comfortably into my clothes to begin the trip.
This is like a inverse roller-coaster. I chug, chug, chug away at the numbers on the scale to make them go down and then ZOOOM right back up again - precisely what I'd hope to avoid this year.
<sigh>
Still being thoroughly unphysical but did I say Ive tried not to snack in the evening and I feel less bloated.Even said to my mum the other day that my belt was alot looser!
And the scales say Im half a stone (6lbs)lighter!!
good going, MG! 6 pounds are not to be sneezed at!
I've been mildly dieting for 2-3 weeks now. Which means avoiding sweets, snacks, bread and other starches... not completely, but sticking to complex carbs if any. i haven't been exercising though, so the scales are not really going down at top speed. but some. 3-4 pounds maybe. I hope that if I persist, it will keep going down slowly, and hopefully stay down longer. I usually do the rash strict diet, and gain weight right back, so lessee what this slow, lifestyle changing approach will do.
Also, I cut down on having an evening wine or beer every now and then. No alcohol for two weeks now. If that doesn't help, dunno what will.
Count me as one of the April Hopefuls.
I'm over-subscribed to magazines, so if I don't spend at least 30 minutes a day on the exercycle, I'll fall behind and waste All That Lovely Money.
JPB--
How does your schedule--and the local climate--cooperate for exercise?
MG--
Dag is right. Six pounds is a very respectable start. Are you feeling thinner? Remember, Uncle George has strict views on exercise and you don't want to mess with Uncle George--or with Noddy.
Dag--
Both the grain and the grape are as fatal for diets as they are for virginity.
mg, whatever happened to the nice walks you were going to take?
LET'S GET PHYSICAL!
