So, I'm back from India. I lost a few pounds, but it's mostly muscle I suspect. My wonderful shoulders have been deflated, grrr. Must go boxing immediately. I'm also resolved to start a new lifestyle and stay on it this time, though. Where's Clary, I need a buddy for this, and this time it's serious. I managed to get engaged and need to look fabulous within a year's time or less so that the parents in law have at least a pretty bride, if she must be a heathen (FIL is a pentacoastal pastor...eeek).

WONDERFUL news, Dagmaraka! I shall certainly slim along with you, even though I have no gentleman-in-waiting! Get in touch. Are you more than the 173 you admitted to before (I think that was the figure)

Now this isn't strictly weight-loss related, but it's related to the belly-dancing which is doing all kinds of good things for me.

There are a couple of women at work who are convinced CONVINCED that I've had Botox injections. Confused

I'm cool with the people who say that my skin is quite glow-y, but Botox. Not so cool. Seems the belly-dancing, since it's all about core work, is good for improving blood circulation - so glow I understand, and appreciate. But Botox. Pissin' me off. I've been working hard to feel/look better Twisted Evil

clary, i'm 169 now, and am aiming for around 155, provided that much of that should be muscle. so am looking at a 15 pound challenge or so.

beth, they're just jealous. it's easier to imagine you've had botox than to admit it's doable with a bit of hard work.

ehBeth--

By accusing you of Botox, they show that they are trendy, savvy, up-to-the-moment women.

Trendy, savvy, up-to-the-moment women are superior to willowy belly dancers.

Willowy.

Now there's a target.

I've never been willowy. Even when I was scrawny.

But things are better.

Thought of btrflynet the other day in class. There's a woman there who's working on getting rid of skin left-over from extreme weight-loss. She says it's working. Slowly. But it's working.

ehBeth--

Would you rather be sinuous than willowy? Graceful with the tensile strength of the Achilles tendon of a grizzly bear's lunging leg?

Thanks Thomas!

Hmm, willowy or sinuous? I can't imagine myself being either or those, but willowy seems more possible.

I go with that; will be weighing in tomorrow at the health club and dare to post the ghastly result. What means of slimming will you be using, Dagma? I shall try to have half what I want!

That's a relief, since I couldn't train the whole last week either. I was hit by a pain that felt like a pulled hamstring at first. Then, after a day or two, the pain suddenly moved into the knee and the calfs; the hamstrings were suddenly fine. My doctor was trying to decide whether it was an inflamed vein or an irritated nerve when the pain suddenly vanished. Whatever it was, it made me gain weight again Evil or Very Mad.

Well, my first and foremost advantage: I am positively and absolutely broke. Due to my visa status I was not able to be paid for the last THREE months and while I'll get reimbursed eventually, I sure as hell don't have a cent now. That helps. Then there's boxing club where I pay through my nose monthly -so I better use it - and I'm back to the theatre. So...I'll be busy flying around town, trying to work in my spare time...ha.

That stinks about the pay, D! As long as it doesn't encourage you to eat hamburgers and fries, the absence of funds could help wonderfully. Those late afternoon bargains at the supermarket on imminent-sell-by-date fruit and veg for example!
Good luck!

I recall noddy was warning me about red wine and water retention. I can confirm her statement after last night's dinner. I drank two glasses of red wine with dinner (the first in ages). A couple hours later I was pulling my shoes off because they felt tight and this morning I had a four pound weight gain over yesterday morning. There was nothing in the rest of yesterday's food/intake that would account for any increase. In fact, I did unusually well for a Sunday.

I guess that does it for red wine for awhile.

At least the water retention is (usually) easy to reverse!

How many weeks of tap-dancing and boxing before opening, dag? Was the eclair worth it at least?

The second veil and zill class is tomorrow.

Cross your fingers that I don't fall over (two women did, last week) AND don't get my head trapped in my veil in a pass-over move (my friend B mummified her head last week).

Veil work is great for the arms, and ensures a goooooooood night's sleep.
