Thank you, Walter. I was at ohmygod in May when you were here, having just returned from a week of eating, drinking, and jazz festing in New Orleans. I'm at comfortable now, looking towards loose. Smile

The whole sizing thing is wacked. Everything's cut so close to the body these days.

Probably some male designer's revenge for the wonder bra. No more fraud in packaging! (Fortunately, we men never needed such tricks for our dazzling, muscular upper arms.)

There is a pile of extra-large tee-shirts on the floor by the bedroom windows. They are going to Goodwill after this weekend.

This weekend, actually Sunday, is the New York City Half-Marathon, it's first ever, in which I shall run behind the vast majority of the 10,000 participants.NYRR

Sunday afternoon, after a nap, I am going to pack up everything that is size 40 and larger.

This morning I got to jog with an marathoner, seventy years old, and fit like I want to be fit. We spent about thirty minutes slogging along as he told me of his plans to do his next race in Australia. He's just back from doing one in South Africa and did another in CAMBODIA last May or June.
I told him about starting last year with a 100 yard walk, losing the fifty pounds and my plans for the half-marathon this Sunday. We just trotted, talking, asking and answering questions of each other.

We finished at the South East Entrance to Central Park. As I headed to the N/R station I looked at my time. I usually do my five miles in an hour, somewhere along the five miles I had run that morning I had picked up five minutes, my time for five miles was 54:39, not fast, but faster than I usually do and it was all from running with someone who really knows how.

Joe--

Congratulations.

I'm of the Donate (or Discard) my over-sized garments. Gourmands should not have clothing sized to accommodate greed.

Geez, Joe, that is a sweet story.

I am holding steady(169), that's the good news...
..even though I broke down and bought a bag of potato chips this week. Well, that's it for chips for the next six months. Lessee, I'll get some more next February.

I want to thank Dys and Diane, though, for teaching me about frozen fruit.
They get bags of it from Costco at presumably reasonable prices. I put some seedless red grapes, pre-tested for deliciousness at the market of course, in my freezer - boy, those are good. Almost better than a salty greasy potato chip.

Osso--

Salt and vinegar chips are particularly tempting.

I've determined that my bathroom scales weigh nearly five pounds light compared with the oncologist's latest electronic model. Of course I'm fully clothed in the hall of the Cancer Center.

My incisions are nearly healed and I really have no excuse not to Move Vigorously and Frequently--exercising all muscle groups and my cardio-vascular system.

Cool! I'm currently off the wagon myself. Maybe I should emulate you, find a few clothes from six years ago when I was 30 pounds heavier, and donate them. This helps clean out my closet, and sounds like a good way to keep motivation up.

Good idea, Thomas. Getting rid of the larger size clothes also prevents you from having any thoughts of growing back into them. And, you're doing a good deed for someone who needs it.

But then, when you're back on the wagon, keep giving away clothes that no longer fit. It's a great way to prevent yourself from regaining lost inches.

You're right, but my cupboard is full of clothes that I WILL slim into - and has been for years! It seems less of an incentive than a reproach...

We're gonna need more details, girl.

I'll be running in the 5K road race here in Stoneham on September 16.
No comparison to Joe's jaunt -- I'd have to do five iterations of the loop!

Congrats to those who have donated their fat pants. I hemmed and
hawed for months.
