Ditto the envy.
Take pics!

The May offensive: first weigh-in.
173, down a pound and on schedule.
It's good to be able to report success.

One thing I'm doing is adding food!
No kidding, I heard someone talk about
spacing food out to 4-hour intervals.

So I have breakfast same time as always, about 6:45 am.
I have lunch at 11 am, not a big change.
Supper for us is usually 7 pm or later.
Now I've added a snack at about 3:00 pm.

It reduces my craving for food immensely.

It sounds like an excellent plan, George.

I'm not planning to lose any weight while in Chicago. But I'm not going to go nuts either... Somewhere in the middle will be fine with me.

Yeah, there's a middle ground somewhere.
I assure you if I were there, I'd put diet at a low priority.
Say Hi to everyone for me.

I've found a chunk of lean protein at breakfast is very helpful along with fruit and a complex carb. The sugar in the fruit hits the blood stream quickly; the complex carb digests more slowly and eventually the protein breaks down.

I left ABQ last Thursday at the same old weight I started at on Apr. 10 - 173. Walked my paws ragged on the Chicago venture, but also ate more than usual. Will check out the horrible results in the morning, which will be nigh on a month from when I first checked into the a2k weightmobile.

The good news is I may having my walking jones back. (It comes and goes, y'know.)

I'm managing to hold my own this week which is surprising given all the eating ops. I had a big lunch yesterday but two meetings last night kept me from having dinner. A quick sandwich at 9:30 got me through the night. At 178, I'm happy with being only 4 lbs heavier than when we left for New Orleans. We're not able to get downtown tonight early enough to meet Joe and Thomas for dinner. I'll grab a quick bite before heading down for the show.

Gone are the days when I pretend I can do a quick recovery. It's obvious my body wants to be in the upper 170s and beyond and it will be a battle to stay around 170. I haven't had any exercise beyond walking around the city a bit for over a week. I'll do a workout this morning and start to get into my regular eating and exercize routines by Thursday.

MG - Take a bag of flour or sack of potatoes with a known weight and put it on both scales. Keep the one that weighs closest to the known weight and throw the other one away.

Ok! Just found this virtual weight loss club! I'd love to join in - it'd be very motivating to have company along this particular ride.

I gained 50 pounds while I was pregnant. I've lost 38 of those, and if I can lose 7-8 more, I'll be a happy camper. So I've recently started dieting a little - more just eating healthy calories instead of slabs of chocolate cake for lunch and ice cream for dinner. And I finally blew the dust of an exercise video I bought 6 months back. For the past three weeks I've been doing it religiously. Of course, the scale doesn't show it. Sad I think I need to keep working at it, and of course, give up the morning muffin as well.

I had a good day yesterday, did two different Turbo Jam workouts, ate well, drank a bit last night Embarrassed but dropped 2 more pounds to 176. One more dinner out with the boyz tonight Cool and then I'll be back in earnest.

I'm back in the club. Buh-bye chocolate, buh-bye bread. I'm just gonna cut most of carbs out, more veggies in, and continue to exercise. something should happen.

It's more like "so fat, long pants" for me.

I'm climbing on board this wagon. Only 40 lbs. separate me from those jeans stored in the back of my armoir....

Welcome Drew Dad and heatwave.

I'm off to a good start today--exercises accomplished, fruit and vegetables cut to user-friendly proportions and anything terribly tempting is stored in the back of the cluttered full-size freezer.

Dinner was delicious and my two week, nonstop fest has come to a close. I left for New Orleans weighing 174 but returned a bunch higher than that. I managed to do two anniversary dinners and four A2K gatherings in the past week and am pleased to weigh only two pounds more than I was two weeks ago. Life is good.

My short range goal is to help George lose his fat pants and then we'll take it from there. Let the detox begin!
