I started out in mid December at 186, not quite the highest my weight has ever been but near there. I'm 5-5 1/2, so that's right up there in pudge city. This morning I'm at 173. I'm happy with that amount of loss as I don't trust fast weight loss. I haven't exactly dieted - more that my life has done flippidies, and I've just ended up eating less.

I still don't have my own refrigerator in place here in my new house (don't ask) and am using Dys and Diane's patio refrigerator. This is constraining, but will pass. I don't think it makes my weight unnaturally low though, since when I do have a refrigerator, I keep fresh veggies and fruit in there.

To lose any more weight - the only way I ever lose and keep it off - I'm going to have to get my body out and doing walkabout. OK, that's the plan. My goal is to get down to 150 eventually, but for now my goal is 160. Shooting for September.

Good work, OssoB - whether you meant to lose it or not.

Slow and steady is definitely preferable <for me>. Fast weight loss just means faster weight gain for me.

Well, I've not dieted strictly, but I've been paying some attention. I've only bought a bag of tortilla chips.. well, I wanted to say once, but the truth is twice. I'm eating less bread since the market where the good bread is stocked is about five miles away. I've been eating more meat, since I've been around it more because my friends eat more of it, and since I don't have room to store more of my usual concoctions of soups and veggies with pasta. I want to get back to eating more fish, but will wait until I haul over the refrigerator.. (any day now, she says).

Oh, I calculated the b.m.i - 28.3. Not great, but better than the 29 something it was once.

That's a lot of weight to lose in two months. 2 stone = 28 lbs/8 weeks = 3.5 lbs/week. Keep measuring inches, do your best with food and exercise and you'll lose weight and reconfigure what's there to be better toned.

The buddy system with your boss is a good way to stay motivated.

(So how naughty were you, mg?)

I was down 2.6 at today's WW meeting. Bringing me to 4.0 down for the month so far.

Even better than that, I'm wearing a pair of pants that I couldn't fasten last month. I've been glowing all day from that happy discovery. I had put on the black pants purchased in January that are getting seriously baggy now. Then I recalled this pair that I bought in December without trying on which were WAY too small - so much for guessing about what size to buy. I've tried them on several times since and kept hanging them back up with the tags still on. Today, they went on, fastened, and yay! They fit! Ok, they're a little snug, but I feel practically skinny. (Not that I am, but I'm working on that.)

I've been having occasional odd moments when I go down a size - when the clothes feel a bit snug. I feel really nasty again. I have to remember to hang on for another week or so til things loosen slightly again. Those are rough little moments.

I just came to give everyone in this thread a big cheer and Yeeeaaa!!
You all rock!!
I mean, this thread has been going since I first joined A2K and it's still going with a lot of the same people plugging away. That's truly sticking it out!

Smile

On my end; I had started a quick-fit program so that I would be in better shape for the hot weather. I have been doing very well except this last week. I've let my bummed-up leg (from my own overzealousness and stupidity anyways) become an excuse to sit on my arse this week. I mean, there is no logical reason I couldn't do other things that don't use the leg a lot.

So I needed to come here for some motivation. Slumps suck.

Great job, mac!

Welcome flushd, just think of a slump as a time to catch your breath. You've been pushing extra hard and your body told you off. Let is heal and pay attention to what you eat. You'll be ready to start up again in a bit and your renewed efforts will pay off.

I've had a good week this week so far. Mr B is working at home today and we went out to a Korean restaurant for lunch. I ate too much, but not too, too much. I should see a loss for the week by Saturday's week 2 check-in.

As an aside, one of the hardest things for me to do exercise-wise is to get up and down from the floor for ab work. Well, getting down isn't so tough, it's the getting up that kills me. I've been seeing TurboJam infomercials on TV lately about upright ab routines. I ordered it and it arrived today. I'll let you know what I think.

I'm doing low carb again, and walking a lot. Been going out looking for morel mushrooms lately. Given a real task, it makes walking much more enjoyable. Next up, golf.

hey, cj, welcome! Mr B talks about picking morels when he was a kid.

Mid-month, I'm down 2 lbs from April 1st, 4.5 from April 8th Embarrassed . George's pants are safe for another week unless he's reached his goal. I leave for New Orleans in 11 days. I would really, really, really like to lose another 5-8 lbs before I leave. I certainly won't be losing weight while I'm there.

I tried the TurboJam workouts yesterday. Some of the moves might be too harsh on my knees (I can't do squats or lunges), but overall I really liked it.

I tell you what..
all this extra work is damn tiring, but I feel better.
Much better.

I dont think I have lost any weight though..
should check on that later

But I can say for certain, this last week has been full of grains and veggies for foods because I packed those for lunches and snacks on the job.

I have eaten better this last week, and LESS because I dont have time for a huge slow meal.

So, weight loss or not, that was / IS a plus
