slow is better than fast, jpin. it will stay off better.
i had a dream last night that my best new pants were too tight and ripped all across my back... but i think that has more to do with the audition i signed up for than anything else. still, time to get serious again.
I just reached my first plateau -- was exercising regularly, a combination of running on a treadmill at the gym and doing bellydancing workout at home (fun! really challenging), getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, and really seeing/ feeling the effects. Haven't weighed myself since last week, but at that point I'd lost 7 pounds from my alarming results at my physical. (Scales are all slightly different, though, two readings on the same scale are more trustworthy.)
Anyway, then sozlet got sick and I couldn't bring her to the gym's babysitting, but I still did the bellydancing -- then *I* got sick, and I've had no energy for nothin' the last couple of days. Not sure if I should push through it or not. Don't want to overdo it, which is my default mode that I have to always talk myself back from.
Hold that dominion, Noddy.
Take a rest and get back into it when you ae better, soz. A little break may be just what you need to get past that plateau. A change of exercise helps too. Try the eliptical for a week or two instead of the treadmill.
Dag - Serious is good.

Soz, what ^^ said.
Dag, bad dreams are sometimes blessings in disguise. It says you're thinking about the audition and also about yourself. I get serious regularly, problem is I slack off just as regularly. This week, I'm serious.
seems like i'll be a part of a drag queen musical :-)
that will involve lots of rehearsals with dancing, then performances three times a week. perhaps that is my final ticket to the 15-20 pounds off station. it still has to be confirmed, so, wish me luck.
Good Luck Dag... not that you need it.
And way to go J_B!
I'll bet you I can lose two pounds in the next five minutes.
I bet you could lose a lot more than that, cjhsa

Finally, a contentious political question that Dag and I agree on. My own favorite workout is 30 minutes on the rowing machine, followed by another 30 on the elliptical. It works out practically every muscle in the body. But I agree the elliptical by itself is already a great workout.

Sometimes I'm just full of it. I know, and won't deny it.
Okay. I've been away from this thread for awhile... I was flat-lining and I didn't want to see the results in print. I did gather myself together and press on.
Yesterday I hit a new low. (No, not that kind.)
206.7 So I am officially down 35 pounds.
My best to everyone.
Joe
