Unfortunately not -- I had the flu in January, couldn't work out for two weeks, but kept on eating as if I was working out one hour a day, seven days a week. So that threw me back a little, but I'm catching up again now.

I'm down another 1.5 pounds for a total of round 5.

Next week I should be back under 200 and feeling much better.

Three times Hurrah to Motivation!

the musical i became a part of, officially yesterday, makes wonders for my apetite. all i crave is carrots and celery sticks. in fact i don't crave those either. all i can think about is dancing and singing and how i need to look good on stage. hopefully the excitement won't wear out in a few days. i will be moving lots though, for the next few months.

The fat guy is afraid to get rid of them.
I have really fallen off the wagon with a thud.

I must be making some progress.

The PA Dutch (Pennsylvania German) version of Mardi Gras is Fastnachts Day. A proper fastnacht is a doughnut made out of potato flour deep fried in rendered pork fat.

A proper fasnacht is a genuine stick-to-the-ribs experience.

I bought a dozen "English" doughnuts ( made with yeast and fried in vegetable oil) and found that a quarter doughnut made me feel full.

Leaving out one for me and one for Mr. Noddy, I cut the rest in half and bagged them for the freezer.

Sometimes you have to flirt with wickedness to realize that your habits have changed.

Dak--

You don't "flirt" with wickedness. You dabble--with great restraint.

Hoorahs to JP, hoorahs to motivation, hoorahs to freezing wickedness, and horrahs to me because I reached my goal of 168 and still have 5 days left on my two week detox.

Any loss from here is bonus to allow me to be wicked in FL at the end of the month.

George, getting rid of the fat pants is very motivating. Being uncomfortable has its advantages.

I had a Jewish friend in college who marvelled that Christians devoted only 40 days a year to self-improvement.

George, I'm sure you're an exception.

My anemia is under control and I'm back on the exercycle. I'm also being quite conscientious about my stretching exercises. Not only do I feel better, life seems more managable.

Springtime here I come.

Hey, where'd everybody go? Did you all die of hunger from fasting during Lent? It's not even close to being over.

I hit a new low (205.4) a couple of days ago, but my computer problems have continued to haunt me.

Going out to run this morning. A little chilly...

Love to all.

Hi, Joe and m.g.

I'm finally back down to 179.
Skiing tomorrow at Loon Mt.
It's been a long time since I last skied.
This could be ugly.

Can you lose weight from sheer terror?

I think the key to monitoring your weight is consistency.
Pick one scale and continue to use that one.
What's important is the difference in weight as you go forward.

Ask the trainers at the gym if they have a program to determine your BMI. My gym has calipers and little zappers that measure water level and other stuff. At a YMCA in Tulsa they weighed you in the swimming pool. (fat floats more than muscle.) It may cost something but would give you a good target.

And George is right, as he is SO often.
I use his bi-polar multi option plan.

Use one scale. Never get on any other. (or don't look at the results as when you are at the doctor's office.) Use the one you think is the friendliest. In the end, weight is just a number, a marker. I always try to remind myself of how I at the number.
