Hey George, I have a theory. For many years I was thin and then I wasn't. I wasn't overweight but I was no longer thin. During most of my adult life I weighed between 167 and 173. As I entered my 40s and now my 50s I've noticed that my body 'wants' to be around 180. That's not ok with me and I'm working like mad to stay around 170 but I think my body really wants to be heavier. You and I tend to carry about the same weight. I think maybe you might be seeing the same thing. Fighting mother nature stinks. It's doable but its a continuous effort. I've had to recover from the holidays every year for over five years now. Last year was miserable, this year seems to be going smoother.
You mentioned battling the bulge. I think that is true. It is a battle, but its one worth fighting.

J_B~
I agree with that theory. When I was very young, I was thin. At around
age 10, I started larding it on. In grade 8, I was 5'7" and weighed 195
lbs. Third year of high school, my whole life changed radically and I went
back to being thin.
Since college, your numbers and mine are a pretty close match. The big
exception was when I was 38. I trained for and ran a marathon. My
weight weight dropped to 158 at its lowest point. Didn't stay there for
long!
You can go anywhere in the US, Canada, Britain, or Japan down to street level.

It looks cool, bethie, but my connection's too slow. It takes forever to load each view. I'll try it again later.

I'm not sure Mr Scale is going to show anything dramatic tomorrow but the jeans I had no business wearing two weeks ago are a bit loose now. I might try some of my smaller sized jeans next week as incentive.

Have you been following Cathy in the comics and her "senile fat"?

no, I'll check it out.
As expected, I weigh the same today as I did last Monday but I'm not concerned. Between raging hormones and the soy sauce in last night's stir-fry I can think of good reason to be at 173.5
I up'd my weights a bit at the club this morning because the others were getting too easy. I should see some results in a few days.

Great attitude, J_B, and nice job with the weights too.
I've been upping the exercise and eating a little less this week, but the scale doesn't appear to have budged. Another day and a half til weigh-in.
