Real life interfered once again. One of the biggest problems I am having is to juggle my very hectic social life with my gym sessions. And since most of the outings happen after work - by the time I get home I am in no state to go to the gym. And I can't say no to my friends as well..... Sad

Looks like being slim and toned is not in my destiny

Gautam the buddha,

I know what you mean. I went today and I reckon I've been overdoing it, not as much enthusiasm though I did do the following:-

15 min walk to gym
20 min weights and machines
5000m on rower-very tough
15 min walk home

I also walked into town and back around 3 miles

I may take Thursday off or go for a run instead then back to normal for my two weekend sessions.

Don't be so hard on yourself, go when you can, just don't give up entirely or I'll set the rabbit on you and that's not a a threat , thats a promise !

I've done very little formal excersize lately. But, I did spend a day and a half helping move my sister's family from their old 3rd floor condo to a new 3-story house. That counts for something, right?

What is an elliptical trainer?

Would it have been good for my hangover to go to the gym?

Yes, normally when I have a hangover, I go for a run (after drinking a bottle of water, and then drinking water continuously throughout the running period) - works wonders for me..

What scotch were you drinking ?

You must have that eliptical trainer set on level 0 to get three miles in in 20 minutes. Try "Hill" level 16.

Back to gym tomorrow, weights and rower although I might just substitute the rower for the treadmill, see how I feel. The rower is tiring me out and too much upper body is not what I want, an overall workout is what I am aiming for. We'll see, report back tomorrow.

Gautam Gautma, I agree with cjhsa your distance/time on the elliptical is very impressive Very Happy

Hiya Everyone!

Gautam,..nice thread!! Very Happy

For the past four years, I've been living LARGE! Very Happy
Got sick, ruined a knee, had a rotten break-up, hated my job but worked 100 hours a week,......all true enough, but I used these reasons to let myself go,...and go I went. I went from 165lbs (5'8", 32"waist) to 265lbs, initially because of medical problems, but after you put on so much, it's pretty easy to say "screw it", and I let it hang on for FAR TOO LONG!
(BTW I used to instruct aerobics, part-time, at a gym)

Anyway, this past winter it really got to me.
In February, I adjusted my diet,...no problem. I wanted to start working out right away, but put it off for a little bit. Two weeks ago I started a daily, hour and a half-long mixed work-out, 45 mins cardio , 45 mins weight training. It's going very well, I feel better , and am finally starting to show.

As of today:
225lbs (still 5'8" Very Happy ), 40" waist,...and shrinking! Very Happy

I'm here with you all!!
