Quote:Sorry I'll miss you tomorrow evening--or are you going to jog in dragging Personal Trainer on a leash behind you?
Crap! I forgot. I am an idiot. As it turned out it wasn't worth either the trainer's or my time. I got the idea very early that he wasn't too interested (even for purposes of making money) in hanging with a paunchy guy. I tried very hard to pretend I didn't know anything about weight training, he tried very hard to make it seems as if it was something difficult to learn.
Went from the gym directly to a meeting of my co-op board and completely spaced out the gala at Lola's.

I wouldn't call it a 'date'. I'd call it a pretty dang good time, with someone you hope to get to know better. But then I don't call very many events 'dates' - makes 'em too weird and pressurized. I think I've only ever had one 'date' with Setanta in over four years.
I think that just the fact that we were accompanied by his friend made it a non-date.
Awright, CG!
"a pretty dang good time" is a close as you need to get on a first time out together. It doesn't matter who else was around. Glad to hear it, lk. I hope you get more dang good times.
Down a bit today, but I sat on my butt all day so I will probably be up a bit tomorrow.
S'ok dragon, it's hot. You get to be a slug without guilt until Labor Day. I might join you.
LittleK: Was it like one of those Oklahoma dates where your date picks you up (in his pickup, what else?,) then stops and picks up his best buddy and the girl sits in the middle between the two guys while you'all drive around town for a couple of hours and then you stop at the Tastee-Freez for chicken fingers and a Dr. Pepper and the guys have a fight about which quarterback for the Sooners ran the Wishbone Offense the best and the girl leans out the driver's side window to talk to her girlfriends about going down to Dallas weekend after next until they stop fighting and the guy decides to take his buddy home first and that becomes weird because it's a sign that like he wants to take things a little further and maybe go drive up pass the Lake Road and park for awhile but the buddy says he doesn't feel like going home just then and then the guy starts to get a little huffy at him not being able to take a hint without being hit upside the the head and you --- you could just die because you haven't got any interest whatsoever in trying to get the jeans you are wearing off and then back on in the front seat of a pickup truck so you are looking around for one of your girlfriends to stroll by so you can take a powder and leave the two yahoos high and dry but none come by so you say that you must have gotten a bad chicken finger because you are not feeling so good and the guy sees his chance at love is gone and he takes you home first and before you even reach the steps to your porch he is roaring out of the cul-de-sac and headed for the Pizza Hut and a pitcher of Coors.
Was it like that? Because if it was the chicken fingers are not diet food.

er, not quite, Joe, but thanks for the perspective.
Whozit? A.? Was it A.? Why does nobody talk to me?!

Ohhh, you want me to tell you about it? Ok, incoming email! You asked for it.
I'll probably loose more weight trying to think through it all.
I'm having problems with back spasms. Can't seem to get them to stop. No exercise this week. I'll see a chiropractor if I'm not better by Monday.
I have those JB, try swimming and walking, also Flexall.
supposedly swimming is the best, least harsh on your body exercise. man did i have one kicking body when i was a competitive swimmer. too bad after 14 years of swimming, i absolutely hate to be wet.
i have vowed that bernie and i will start running again religiously starting monday ( i would start sooner, but my bro and sis in law are moving this weekend and i figure i will get plenty of exercise moving boxes). i have got to get to 145, my goal weight. only 25 lbs. and all said and done i have lost 15 so far, was as high as 18 at one point, but alas, laziness got me.
I went to the chiropractor yesterday. No exercises until the spasms stop. He worked his magic and I felt wonderful for a few hours but then they started up again.
Ice, 4 times/day
Enzymes for inflamation 4 times/day
No exercise until I'm better, then simple stretches to get the knots out.
He predicted it would take about 4 days for the ice/enzymes to work.
ugh, good luck JB, that sounds yucky. hope you feel better soon!!!
JB: Do a Goggle search for "Say goodby to back pain." It's an old, but excellent video tape of very gentle stretchs that will forever cure your back pain. Probably still available on Amazon. Get it. Do the work, pain goes away.
I had a good week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at the gym and running Central Park (still only half way or so around, about three and half miles in 45 minutes---- excruciatingly slow in order to burn fat.)
Working 223.6 that down for the sixth week in a row.
I am going very slow at the gym as well. Three sets of weight machines geared to pump up my arms and shoulders and legs.
I have decided that this will be the only thread I will be posting on for the foreseeable future. I'll check in every Sunday night on everybody and let you know what going on with my life and thighs.

don't ask.
okay ask.
So, now I'm skipping every night - and hurting every night. I'm working on convincing my 12 year old skipping pal that I just CAN'T jump for as long as she can - at least not yet.
The bicycle is still scaring me - I need BoGoWo to get back in touch for technical advice on how to raise the handlebars.
Walking, skipping, eating the fruits and veggies - it can't be bad for me.
I lost another pound in NYC and while I'm a bit embarassed about all those greasy trails on the city sidewalks, tripping up the fantastic light people, I'm inspired.
I'm 125, headed for 124 and eventually 112.
Really, it is too hot to eat.
