There is plenty to eat, grass seeds and the heather garden is full of herbs and flowers.

That salad sounds good. I've got about three heads of lettuce to chop up and eat this week.

I'm rejecting lettuce these days: tomato, cucumber, sweet onion and a scattering of beans--limas beans this week--with dressing-on-the-side.

Amazing how much dressing is left over when you put it on the side of the plate.

ok i did not hold my own this weekend. however, this morning, bernie and i made it out on our run. it was amazing because the temp was only 76 but the humidity was like 87 so i was dripping by the time we got back. i am back to eating 5 times a day again starting today since that helped immensely last go round. shooting for 155 by sept. 30th, that's 15 lbs in 8 weeks, is that unrealistic?

i am alas still stuck at 170 (thank god i didn't gain any).

dragon--

Enforced break in exercise with no gain--your metabolism is geared for loss.

Fifteen pounds in eight weeks--just under two pounds a week--is realistic. I figure I'll be lucky if I can lose a pound a week because I am a languid woman of leisurely living.

Still, eight pounds lighter is eight pounds lighter.

Would that we could pass on the poundage to Slappy. I'd enjoy that.

I haven't dropped any weight of late (still at approx. 142 in the am and 146 in the pm). But, I got a little write-up from the GP today (the doc offices have just started providing little visit summaries and health guidelines tailored to individuals) which says my body mass index is at 23.65. Not bad. My 'normal range' is between 18.5 and 24.9.

I would have guessed your weight at around 135.6, littlek.

I am staying right around 192. I would like to drop back to 190, but if it means giving up beer........forget about it.

Exxcussse me, some of us are trying to enjoy our hearty breakfast of one half grapefruit, one piece of toast and black coffee. It is indeed a joy.

i was back down to 168 this am. loved it. however that still leaves 13 lbs on the table to go! ran again this am, but we took a little shorter route because we overslept a little. plus its amazing that at 75 degrees and 91% humidity how much you can actually sweat. when i came in, hubby said, i didn't know you were going swimming...

My official restart will begin tomorrow. I gained 6 lbs in 4 days and I'm drinking cranberry juice like a mad woman trying to get rid of the bloat. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be willing to post a starting number.

177 again, ack!! It comes from a week of not paying the least bit of attention and using shovels to fill my plate with whatever goodies passed in front of me.

Ok, back to business.

Jumping jacks and 3.5 mile walk complete. Protein/berry smoothie for breakfast. Lunch will be poached salmon on a bed of brocolirab. Cranberry juice abounds! I alread have a salad with turkey breast ready for dinner.

dragon--

I want to hear about that MRI. I can worry more efficiently when I have detailed information.

J_B--

Good start for the rest of the diet. Women who enjoy their vittles are at a considerable disadvantage in this world.

My weight is still 127. I'm not overeating, but I'm not moving much, either.

Four weeks left of the Dog Days of August.

oh the mri was to check that my renal arteries were functioning correctly since i have a history of kidney stones + high blood pressure. happy to say, they are fine, which means the only explanation for my high bp is either genetic or 13 years of BCP and lifetime of decongestants since my cholesterol is low. fortunately all is treatable by medication so i am on it!

will be running tomorrow morning again. off to the races!!! hope to be 165 by next week!
