Welcome CG. I'm glad you found us.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I'm still spending way too many hours at my desk and not enough at the gym. I haven't checked my weight since Monday so it'll be a surprise one way or the other. I'm suspecting a gain, I'll be pleasantly surprised by a loss or no change.

littlek--yes your boxer is so cute! i love it when they look at you with that quizzical look.

ay s-i used to hate running because it was so hard. it has gotten better and now it only takes me 20 minutes to go a mere 2 miles. better than the 30 it took me when i started.

I am currently at 30 - 35 minutes for 6 km. Which is heaps better than the 60minutes for 2 km I was doing a year ago!

As for your sleep patterns....boy, you would get along well with my husband! That man can sleep! And yes, occasionally I _will_ literally kick him out of bed Wink

Happy running! Your pooch is a tease Wink

Welcome CG Smile

ah yes, weigh in day Razz
meh
141.5 lbs

down a whole half a pound!

Busy day ahead of me. I have Brownies tonight and have to go and get materials to make dream catchers so that will require a 2km walk.
I take the bus to Brownies and have started walking to the next 'burb over to catch the bus instead of catching the train 600 metres up the hill.
Will also hit the gym today just because I want to soak in the jacuzzi (which is all I did yesterday Razz)
We had a bit of drama here yesterday as when I woke up yesterday morn and came out to the lounge I found my oldest son packing his bags!! He was to fly out to Canada Friday morning...well, I had a complete and total breakdown! I tried, really tried to be happy for him but was still completely overtaken by sadness Sad
Ryan has postponed his departure until July 25. I will have to find a therapist between now and then so that I can let him go...
The younger son is leaving in October so this is a.) just practice b.) two of the hardest things I have ever had to do
btw...i thought it was a set up for a bingeing day but the opposite was true...i couldn't eat a thing Razz

Ay S--

Mild misery I gobble. Severe misery pushes eating right out of my mind--no hunger, no interest. When I'm acutely miserable I loose pounds and pounds.

Perhaps in the silver lining department?

dont say that littlek!!!! you can do it!

Weigh in.

starting weight 180lbs
today 170
total loss 10lbs.
this week 2lbs.

i think what has me going is that i actually started trying about 2 months before this challenge and didn't lose a single pound until the first week of this. That was really strange, but i also changed some of my meds(BCP) so that may have a play in it too.

Ay S-yes i am lucky the dog loves to run in the am. he sticks his big wet nose in my face to get me up as he did this am so sinus headache and all, we made our 2 mile forage through the neighborhood. Good luck with your sons, i am sure however that you raised them right and they will be just fine (that doesn't make you miss them any less though!! Sad )

i can't wait until the middle number is a 6!!! hopefully i will get there. the whip cream and chocolate chips called my name last night (oops!) so maybe it will be a little longer than i hoped.

WTG Dragon, George, and Ay.

I'm trying to see if I can gain 10 lbs by June 30th, right? If so, then I'm doing fine.

Week 3 weigh-in 175 grrrrr
Ok, the party's over, the guests have returned home, the leftovers are either eaten or too old to eat. It's time to stop making excuses and get down to business!

Daily checkins will begin again. They help keep me honest.

George, dragon and dog-of-dragon--

Envious congratulations.

littlek--

Are you a wimp? Or just not a boxer? Not everyone can leap tall buildings with a single bound.

J_B--

Stress not only contributes to the nibbles, but under stress the body wants to store fat around the liver for quick energy when needed. Next week will be better.

Confessions:

Starting weight: 131
Present weight: 130
This weeks change: +1
Total loss: -1

Evidently every alcoholic drink I have is going to result in three or four days of bloat from water weight.

I make no great pledges for this week. This weekend I'm off to my 45th college reunion and I'm going to play Blue Moon Festival rules. Then on Monday, back to reality and self improvement.

At a Blue Moon Festival all rules are suspended--except the law of gravity and the consequences of caloric consumption.

Noddy, I guess I must be a wimp.

I haven't lost any weight, but I don't think I'm trying very hard. Also, like I said, I have an old simple scale, it's impossible to tell the difference of one pound let alone a half a pound.

Don't be discouraged lilk. I think I have lost 1/2 a pound since we started this. I have not changed the way I eat all that much but have increased my exercise regime. I feel healthy and really, isn't that what counts?

Still, it would be nice to lose 5 lbs Rolling Eyes

So come on, tie up your running shoes and go for a walk. Eat sensibly and be happy, don't worry Smile

littlek--

In my insulting and degrading post "wimp" meant "quitter". None of us are peeling pounds with effortless abandon. Besides, this is a group effort, not a competition.

My scales are low tech. The best I can manage is 130-and-a-little-more or 130-and-a-little-less.

If you like yourself at 149 pounds, great. If you think you'd feel better or look better or like yourself better weighing less, stick with us.

Hold your dominion.

littlek, one "disadvantage" is that you don't have a lot of fat to lose.

also remember that you may not be losing weight per se because you may be losing fat. the scale is not always the best indicator it is just generally the easiest to measure. i suggested before that some may want to measure their waists, thighs, bust, hips, and arms and remeasure once a week. for example in Ay S's case, since the exercise has gotten more but food habits haven't changed, some fat may be getting converted over to muscle. since muscle is more dense than fat, you can actually gain weight but look leaner.

oh littlek, you can do it!
