How can you guys count in single pounds. I have an old, cheap scale that may or may not be accurate on any given weighing. I usually weigh 2-3 times and take an average.

Good going McTag!

We got a new bathroom scales (how strange, a singular article with a plural noun. Whutt?) It is like electronic, and you can set it to read in kilos or pounds, or stones and pounds.
The scale has only three numbers (big and so easily read), so it reads in half-pound increments for those like my wife who is under 10st in weight, and in pounds for those like me are over 10st in weight.
(The British measure in stones and pounds, fourteen pounds to the stone. Are you following this?)

Example: 10.2 on the scale is 10 st 2 lb, or 142 lbs

9.85 is 9st 8.5 lb, or 139.5 lbs (See? Three numbers only)

et voila

ok, i made it back out there today on the 2 mile run with the pooch. i am feeling less stressed since i took a practice exam and faired rather well. Congrats to everyone who did so well this weekend! wish i could say the same, but today is a new day, right? i started out well with my 2 mile run and two hard boiled eggs (no yolks to keep cholesterol down).

i have always been afraid of the electronic scale, afraid it will somehow make me heavier (not sure why, maybe because my parents have one and i am at least two pounds heavier on their scale than mine every time i go over there and weigh myself). i did weigh this morning and i was 172 so hopefully this weekend didn't do too much to me Smile Keep it up everyone, your stories are inspiring.

dragon--

Congratulations on your morning run and your new self-confidence about the exams.

When I compare my weight on my scales and my weight on my doctor's scales, I notice that the heavier I am the greater the flattering gap between my scale readings and his scale readings.

McTag--

In the archaeology of language, I believe one originally talked about a "set of scales"--the balance pan and all the weights.

Ditto, J_B.

Dag has the most creative, happiest (except for the food poisoning), endorphin producing diet I've ever heard of. It takes a certain youthfulness to succeed...

Ah well, tomorrow is another day. Dominion, dominion, dominion. Holding on.

I suggested Dag's plan to The Lovely Bride
and she offered to buy me a new pair of running shoes.

See? 'Tis not only a diet, but the roadmap to World Peace...

wait, The Lovely Bride meant the running shoes as a reward, did she not?

You're very tactful.

Had great bicycle ride Monday AM, taking advantage of the sunshine
(a rare commodity around here these days).
Biked down to Somerville and back.

Shoulder workout today.
I'm actually getting some definition back in my deltoids.

2 hours boxing. EVERYTHING on me hurts. Took a bath, something went wrong, now the damn thing doesn't drain. so i had to go all wet and weak to CVS, got draino, still doesn't drain. grrrrr.

i ate little and oddly today: one portabella mushroom sauteed for breakfast, an apple, a can of tuna with lemon, and a few pickled herrings. can you tell i haven't gone shopping for a few weeks?
