Well if my goal was to lose weight, I probably would have kicked all of your asses over the last 2 weeks. I can't believe what I see in the mirror, what a difference from one week ago. From being sick, having strep throat, no appetite, not being able to eat whole food until yesterday, I look like a Somalian. I refuse to step on a scale until I've filled back out to what I was.

Going back to the gym will be the best and most depressing thing(hopefully within the next couple of days).

Getting better, this is the first day I haven't taken Tylenol or Motrin(so far) in 2 weeks. Throat is getting better, but still there.

I could only do 3000 pushups this morning.

With my TV strapped to my back.

One-handed.

But couldn't manage the usual tower of midgets on top of the TV, huh?

Sad.

Sad, indeed. I sent the little fellas home, so I wouldn't get them sick. They have a busy week ahead of them of being jolly and singing, so they best get their rest.

The quest for a smaller body size begins in earnest today!
I WILL monitor what I eat as well as continue my workouts. Actually, I reckon I may bump the workouts up a notch.
Here goes......!!!

Hey, anyone else lose 15 lbs over the last 2 weeks?

I WIN!!!

My f'n roomate bought a scale...and I just had to step on it.

Except it sucks, the weight is muscle. First time back in the gym in a while today, and if there were 12 year old girls there, they may have laughed at my girlieman-like strength today.

It was the finale of Celbrity fit club on tv last night and I was amazed to see the difference in them. They did a morphing of how they were 3 months ago to now.One lady lost nearly 2 stone and went form being obese to a suitable weight for her height. She looked fab.
Makes me wanna, eat lettuce and go to the gym everyday!!!

Dag reports back for duty. George made me sick today at our Bahstin gathering by massaging his sore muscles from his mid-day runs. I want sore muscles. It's biking everywhere from tomorrow (54F and sunny!). no chocolate (only one day a month when it's a favor to the world really), no slacking, here's to a better stronger dag!
<may i have the last piece of chocolate with the last glass of wine? ah, nobody's looking, that means it has zero calories...>

Saw my doctor on Monday: Cholesterol levels, excellent. Blood pressure, excellent. Unfortunately, I'm severely anemic with only 2/3 of the "normal" red blood cells. At least this explains my tremendous lassitude.

I'm taking iron tonic--anyone else remember the Geratol commercials of the '40's and '50's promising to aleviate "tired blood". I'm also feeling less guilty about my present "all things in moderation" approach to life.

I've shredded the local newspaper for a set of intellectual pom-poms and will gladly cheer the rest of you on.

Are you off and running.....?

Oh, Noddy!!!!

I'm sorry to hear you're so run down. Yup, Geritol was the sponsor of the Ted Mack amateur hour. Do you remember that show?

I'm sure your tonic will have you out of your chair and back on the exercycle in no time. I'm sure he gave you a list of iron-rich foods too. Take care and keep us posted.

It's been up and down for me. After getting snowed in on a visit to my cousin in Colorado, having nothing to do but eat the birthday cake she baked for me, I was at least able to walk most of it off by walking on her land. She has about 25 acres of what used to by my uncle's ranch. With my little dog, the walking was a joy in a winter wonderland. Haven't had the nerve to step on the scale, but I doubt there is much difference.

Noddy, I repeat Lady J's post and ask for updates and to send along my best wishes for your improved health. Take good, good care of yourself, dear Noddy.

Ay, hopefully you're not basing your diet only on lettuce. It has pretty much nothing for nutrients. Eat meals balanced with protein, some carbs, and a little fat here and there. Chicken, fish, lean meat, brown rice, ect. Eating just lettuce is going to kill your energy levels. No vitamins, no protein, carbs, and your body isn't getting anything to use for energy.

Noddy, just curious: is your lack of red blood cells only from lack of iron in your diet?

Oh my... you guys sound like bumps on a log!... Spring is coming, and dont get me wrong Im not a very good "stick to it" person... I seem to always fall off the wagon on my diet & excersize plans... but honestly if you want it enough just go for it... I just picture myself in my bikini feeling happy... not ashamed! Smile Just put your mind to it... think of a goal...Hope that helped!

Slappy, I do eat a pretty balanced diet. A lil lacking in the dairy department but oh well. I am a vegetarian so don't eat heaps of the stufff you mentioned Wink I do cook tofu, lentils and beans. I eat heaps of veggies and fruit. We try to keep fat to a minimum here as in we don't heap fat ON things as there is always a bit of fat in cooking.

Feeling all better now Slappy?

Yes, feeling better, thanks. Now just gotta pack the weight back on. Like Kissyface said, just going and do it.

Sorry, sounded like you meant you just eat a ton of lettuce, and not much else. You really don't need dairy, or a lot of it in your diet, but you should be getting calcium, which is easy through vitamins.

Slappy, hope you're feeling better. So right about getting variety in one's diet.
Ay, I don't see how you eat so well and intelligently, exercise as much as you do and still have a hard time losing. Have you had a good check up lately?
My skinny Dys bought a loaf of wonderful Italian bread yesterday. Yep, lots of it is now inside me plus the butter that went on. That was the only slip today. Onward and up--no, downward.
