@JGoldman10,
People in authority over me? I live in a Democracy, I thought you did too.
Your tv evangelists are despised universally. The Church of England is nothing like that. The A B of C, Justin Welby, Is quite a decent bloke, when he does speak it’s on issues of real morality, poverty, homelessness, pollution, greed in the City, that sort of thing. He doesn’t spout a load of horseshit about abortion, gun ownership or homophobic nonsense.
You know nothing about this country, but you act like it’s an enclave of America. We’re not like you’ we told the pilgrim father’s to **** off and take their puritanical **** with them.
We’re not a religious nation at all, Chaucer’s depiction of the clergy should tell you that.
Falstaff is the most popular character in Shakespeare despite being a villain. That’s because he has three qualities the English admire. The first two, wit and good living are liked all over, but the third quality irreverence is all ours. That’s why we don’t pay much attention to those in authority. If you want to kiss your evangelist’s arseholes go ahead, just don’t expect anyone over here to think it’s a good thing.
