Farmerman,
Thank you. I must now make my wife read your post and see if she laughs as hard as I did.
Now back to Cow v. Pig...
the emo thread is over to the right
I'm agonna hunt down the fargin' bastich that voted cow, and put paid to THAT nonsense.
He's referring to the lastest manifestation of teenybopper subculture . . . he's drunk with his newfound knowledge, Lion, let him have his fun . . .
Liontamer-my emo response was for moondoggy who said that pink is the new black. If I posted quicker, rather than getting a beverage, I woulda followed his and it woulda made sense. As it is I should have thought to address the post. No problem, as far as Im concerened Emo kids are the more up to date versions of "goth" except these kids dont file their teeth and give their parents reason to have them commited.
Farmer, your guinea hen post is one I may print and frame..
pearl hens... do they wear glasses too?
osso-We got the pearl guineas because the body feathers make great feathery additions to a homemade Bucktail striper plug. They are actually irridescent.
I eat all kinds of meats you know. Striped bass is especially good grilled in a mass of tarragon flavored veggies in a "tinhat' style over a grille.
Do you have any meat dish recipes that you are especially fond?
Mmmm . . . meatloaf sammich . . .
Take one large meatloaf (3-5 lbs.)
Slice meat loaf in half, laterally.
Place one half of meatloaf on a thick slice of bread. Place another thick slice of bread on top of the meatloaf. Place other half of meatloat on top of second slice of bread. Place third slice of bread on top of second slice of meatloaf.
Get small, single serving beverage (say, one gallon), find a comfy chair, sit down, enjoy.
We'll wait for you.
A true trencherman.

I can't find Hazan's Bolognese sauce recipe, and I just know I posted it some place. Will be back with that one. It's pretty mild and I tend to garlic and chili it up a bit, thus completely blowing the original recipe.
Here's the bolognese sauce, which goes well with fresh pasta, sigh.

Not for the faint of heart.

On a stick ?
The NC state fair has taught me that you haven't lived until you have had greasy meat on a stick.
Of couse this cuts your life expectancy greatly, but who's counting ?
I've had ostrich eggs and an elkburger, but never ever... emu..
I love trying new types of animal. Luckily there is a great bar and grill in my neighborhood that specializes in wild game. While enjoying pints of some great beer I have also had elk, quail, gator and buffalo. Here is a
link to some of their offerings. Every once in a while they have a special selection. So far I have missed them but in the past they have offered rattlesnake and bear.
No, boss, but they had wonderful peameal bacon sammiches . . . not a meatloaf sammich, mind you, but about a half pound of sliced bacon roast on a bun for $4.50 CAN.
The elk, emu and ostrich was being sold as uncooked meat . . .
