I would like to see Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, as well as any other democrat who wishes to seek the 2020 nomination. Whether one the early front runners or some other candidate ends up winning the nomination, he or she will definitely get my vote to be the next president of the United States.

Well then you are forgiven. Everybody should have a right to an opinion. I normally would have passed over what they spread about Biden, except for me it is uncomfortable watching him with kids.

So noble of you...

You two had a difference of opinion, don't be an asshole....let it go.

I don't entirely agree with that assertion. But when it comes to running for president, the highest office in the land, you are probably right.

@Real Music,
Thanks. Speaking of ego, Hillary's wasn't particularly small either...

AGREED.

Anyone who is running for the highest office in the land probably has an ego.

Considering the work Bernie Sanders has done for the regular people in this country, if ego is what drives that kind of behavior, everybody should stand in that line.

Based on how they spent their time, MLK, Bobby Kennedy, and Jesus Christ were loaded with ego.

Selling your latest book or speech, for those of you who have no idea about morality, is not the same as marching with poor working Americans whose lives would change if they had a decent wage, safe housing, or clean water.

@Olivier5,
Having an ego running for the highest office in the land doesn't necessarily make you a bad person.
You can be a good person with an ego.
You can be a bad person with an ego.
It's merely an acknowledgement that the ego exist.

Yes Bernie Sanders is a good man. I believe Bernie also has a good heart. I also believe Bernie wants to do good things to help people. If elected, Bernie would make a great president. There are many politicians who are good hearted people. But, when any person believes he or she should be the president of the United States, it's hard to believe that person doesn't have an ego for believing that.

That would include Bobby Kennedy, John F Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George W Bush, Jeb Bush, George H. W. Bush, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Donald Trump, H Ross Perrot, Pat Buchanan, Ralph Nader, Michael Dukakis, Walter Mondale, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, and anyone else who ever believed they should be president. That's not necessarily negative. It's just an acknowledgement.

One side note:
MLK never ran for president of the United States.
Jesus Christ is the savior and is perfect in every way.
Jesus Christ also never ran for president.

@Real Music,
Yes, but those never-rans spent a lot of their time like Bernie spends his, and that was my point.

I think it’s ridiculous to ascribe an overactive ego to that guy for that specific, we’ll-documented reason.

Yep, you are right.
But it doesn't necessarily make someone a bad person for having that ego. Also, not all egos are the same.
Some have smaller egos. Some have larger egos.

@Lash,
Maybe the word ego might have been too strong.
It does take a certain type of person to believe he or she should be the one who hold the highest office in the land.
I'm not bashing anyone in particular.
This is more of a generic assertion.

@Real Music,
I understood that.

At least one other member used the topic of ego as a springboard for an attack on sanders, so I guess my stridency was misdirected. Sorry, LOL, I had to look back myself to see why I was miffed.

I’ll improve my direction.😏

@Lash,
If anyone ask what has Bernie done? My answer would be that he has change the conversation to include things like medicare-for-all as well as some other progressive ideas. His persistence of changing the conversation can change policies and ideas. He just has to be patient and persistent. Bernie activism doesn't always have to affect national politics. There are local politics that are listening to his ideas. His ideas may not take affect right now, but his persistence will lay the ground work for later. Also, I think he should be patient and try to change the party from within. If he follows the Ralph Nader path and run as a third party candidate he would eventually lose all relevance.

@Real Music,
I think the duopoly enslaves us. I’m doing everything I can to break it.

We need more parties to break the stranglehold by unelected party operatives of Ds and Rs. They’ve made changes in our system that basically remove citizens’ voices from elections.

Ideally, the duopoly should not exist. But it is so ingrained in American politics that I don't know it can be undone at this point in history. Bernie may see it that his one option is to play the game, rather than trust a new party to make the breakthrough, even if it means getting shafted again. We have a number of progressives running now that we have not had in the past. Their success or failure may determine which way Democrats go in 2020. I am not even slightly optimistic either major party will do better by the people by then.

@edgarblythe,
Maybe you’ll get a second chance to help Trump get elected by voting third party. Wouldn’t that be fun for all of us?
