Got off work at noon, went to have a manicure and pedicure, it was wonderful ... then shopped for New Year's Day dinner, came home to my favorite respite, and watched Sting on Oprah! Sting is my absolute favorite and a perfect addition to a wonderful afternoon!
Misti's avatar, and myself (I'm so perfect).
Today had many smiles, but the one that gets a laugh too is this. Little E had a visit from the snake/turtle/alligator/etc animal guy at school. I picked her up and brought her home, asking what she'd done today, she said that the 'rectiles' came to school. Ha! Rectiles. Ok, maybe you had to be there.
I love the words she comes up with!
(a belated) happy new year, everyone!
Isn't that from a book? Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH?
Twisted ferret made me smile.
Finally getting so see a friend today, score!
I walked around the supermarket handing out little envelopes with "thank you" notes and cash in them.......and just seeing the tired faces of people hard at work light up in a sudden happy smile, made me smile a whole lot of times!
katya, What a wonderful thing for you to do.
katya8, so are you the owner? the manager? a customer? I've told a few supermkt stories on other threads about folks who have worked really hard the last month or so in particular. Very sweet of you.
Cool, katya!
Raising a kid in the age of Google: We were perusing a pork roast recipe (not something we make often), and sozlet asked, "Did I ever eat pot roast when I was a baby?" E.G. and I looked at each other, weren't sure, shrugged. She said, in a reassuring tone, "We can go check on the computer."
(I say that several times a day, to find out what children's book authors look like, or song lyrics, or what the weather is like where her grandparents live, or...)
some posts make you LOL, and then some elicit a smile that starts slowly, then turn big once you imagine the scene and hear the kid saying it ..
<smiles>
the sozlet reminds me of this little girl, i used to know ...
<nods>
Sozlet stories always make me smile.
