Heliotrope, tell what the surprise was, if it isn't too embarrassing.
Smiling because dys fixed bacon and eggs this morning.
I know I'd be smiling big-time if Beth had pictures of Bailey and Cleo in their foul weather gear.

What made me smile? When I de-fogged my brain after dragging out of bed with a big old cup of Hills Brothers instant coffee and two or three Viceroy cigarettes. Yikes! I know you guys are going to beat me up for that one!

I'm smiling right now because Fred the parrot has been playing with a pen, as if conducting a symphony.

I'm smiling today because I got a new 21" monitor at work to replace the old 17" unit, to stop my eyes going funny when I'm doing my project planning. Boys & their toys...!

An ex-classmate (from the "integration course") invited her round and cooked for her, too, the other night, a Thai girl ... People care. Life has a way of taking care of you, eventually ..

(sometimes I really believe that!)

Well my smile of the day was more of a guffaw - I heard my neighbour and best friend calling me for help and ran over there in a panic. He had been sitting on the doorstep on an old canvas seated chair when the seat split and he fell through bottom first. He was wedged in the framework sort of concertina like with his legs up over the front - hard to describe but unforgettable! He allowed me to have a good laugh before I helped get him out. He had been trying to find his own way out for about 20 minutes.

My smile was generated by my dog's apparent glee in finding an extremely large mud puddle during our constitutional today. She sidled up to it then looked at my wife who promptly and sternly instructed her not to indulge, at which point I swear I saw a smirk on the canine's countenance (is that possible?).

To make a short story brief I ended up offering to hose her down when we got back home...but my wife angrily refused, so I just hosed down the dog instead.

Right now I am smiling as I am ready for my trip to Oklahoma City this weekend. All that is left to do is pack a few personal belongings. So it will be an early night and an even earlier morning I plan to be on the road by 5:00 a.m.

See you all Monday or Tuesday and I hope I am still smiling because of great sales.
