Driving down Mopac at rush hour, I passed a trailer carrying Bevo (the UT football teams mascot)

That itself made me smile. It's a huge beautiful longhorn steer.

Upon going home, Walette was there, so we got out a small pair of steer horns (hey, I live in Texas ok? Everyone has some steer horns somewhere in their house).

We held them up to Otis's head, and put the picture on his instagram page, dubbing him Bevotis.

Here's the current Bevo XIV...

@chai2,
Nemmind Texas. When I lived in Boston I had a set of short horns hung over a doorway in my apartment and a steer skull on the wall over my desktop 'puter. Left them on the mainland when I moved to Hawaii. But that's no problem. The Big Island is cattle ranch country. You find steer skulls all over the place.

@Lustig Andrei,
Tonight I had a chance to reconnect with an old dear friend from work. It's been so long since we talked, I worried she might not even remember me. We talked via phone and had a blast remembering things that happened to us at work when we were in our early 20's. She was always so much fun and so incredibly bright and we had such a great time on the phone. We plan to get together with another old pal who is still in the area and have lunch or dinner. Ok, that sounds dull unless you know the two friend I'm talking about. I'm hoping we can get together next week, I'm still smiling.

@glitterbag,
No, that sounds like a good time glitterbag.

It's special when you can just pick up talking to someone you someone you haven't seen for ages, like it was just last week.

@glitterbag,
Sometimes I feel nostalgic for friends of 5O or 6O years ago.

Today the barley malt syrup arrived, which means I can make new york type bagels. I'll probably mess up the first time, but I'll eventually get it, I hope.
That's not what made me smile, though; it was the cardboard container the jar and bubble wrap were wrapped in.

What it said where you opened the flaps -

5 ways to reuse this box:

1. Cat bed

2. Arts & crafts

3. Moving supplies

4. Kiddie fort

5. Garden compost

Maybe this is common, but I've not see this before and it made me happy. I'll order from these people again.
They sell lots of healthy living products. PM me if you want the name of the company.

Now I need a kitten.

@ossobuco,
I haven't seen it before either - good idea - might make people think twice about recycling.

Arizona – -(Ammoland.com)-

An armed citizen in Arizona has stopped a bank robbery
in a dramatic and effective fashion.

After being shot, one robber dropped the stolen money.
It appears that he determined what was happening,
took action, and fired on the armed robbers when they resisted.

One robber was killed, the other is in custody.

@cicerone imposter,
My argument here is that David posted to the wrong thread. He gloats over anything involving violence via firearm. Okay, but I doubt there are many posters here who'll smile about the sad and somber fact that someone was shot dead in Arizona.

@Lustig Andrei,
We all know David love guns over life. The Second Amendment is more important to David than all the kids who harm themselves or others with guns, and guns used in crime.
