At the checkout line in the supermarket yesterday. Person in front of me young woman with her little daughter (no more than three or four years old) in the grocery cart. Cashier one of those "the-customer-is-always-right" and "this-smile-is-a-permanent-part-of-me" type that virtually
sings "Thank you" at the end of every transaction. As I moved up in line and the woman in front of me was wheeling her cart out, the little girl looked up at the cashier, smiled and
sang out "Thank you" in absolutely perfect imitation of the cashier's tone of voice.
Everybody in line broke up.
