I had to explain to Antonio his little doggie Paco has to go back to the vet to be neutered. He almost started to cry, he said he doesn’t want a girl dog.

Last night went to see a choral competition that included choirs with members from five to 85.
I didn't tape any of it, but found these youtube videos that give a general idea of the content of two of my favorite moments from the competition.
The childrens' choirs were wonderful - as was the bell choir which was made of up people whose average age was probably 75. They're looking for younger members - I think I might join.
And all of this beautiful music was presented in a beautiful 12th century church.
It was a magical evening all around and I'm still smiling today remembering it:

I'm writing!

Who knows how long it will last or where it will go, but I had an idea for a YA novel that really seems to have legs. Wrote the first chapter this morning.

The smile is just the writing itself -- haven't done that in a long time.

@sozobe,
Amazing, isn't it? You think about it, mull it over, and kick it around for a couple of years, and suddenly one morning the first chapter practically writes itself.

Smiles for you.

@roger,
Thanks Roger!

I'm trying to not get ahead of myself and just enjoy the process for now.

The idea actually appeared out of nowhere last night. I scrambled to get down the bare bones at the time and then started actually writing this morning.

But the kernel of it is something that I've been kicking around since I was an undergrad. Just a much better setting for it than I've found thus far.

@Rockhead,
the beanie or the flying nun?

I've got the beanie - I grabbed it when we cleaned out the house.
