a tremendous time today at Belly Be Well. Great group of women in a wonderful space - sharing, smiling, laughing, dancing ... I'm so glad I wished for this and that the universe made it happen.

At my art supply store we are knee deep in 1st year architecture students getting stuff for their 1st studio class after spending the fall semester largely in lectures about architecture. Some drawing.
This morning, just as we opened at 8:30 a 2nd year lad came in with a list for a course called "Urban Design And Transportation."
Some of you may know that I have an interest - but no educational background - in this subject.
What made me smile was how passionate he is about what he (and I) see as the re-urbanization of the cities and the trend away from the house in the distant suburbs with white picket fences...and long commutes on highways that can never be adequate for the traffic.

@realjohnboy,
You should have shown him your dirty postcards to take the poor lad's mind off such idiotic ideas.

@realjohnboy,
You know that I'm with you re these interests. It is a complicated subject in a variety of ways, which makes it a thicket of interest for me.

I would imagine when derelict urban wasteland gets turned back into functioning houses, shops offices etc.

Guilty guilty and guilty verdicts in the Shafia trials.

I exhaled enormously once I heard that. I had not realized I had wanted to hear that so much.

I read up on the allegations: HORRIBLE. GHASTLY!
Those Moslems r not like us.

From the descriptions that I read,
the murders (4 murders) resulted from the desires for boyfriends
of the 2 eldest daughters.

Maybe I 'm missing something.

@OmSigDAVID,
There are more than enough murders of family members of all religious denominations in North America - there is no need to bring in a religious reference to this case (that is also how I feel about what the prosecution did - I was not pleased with that).

The case had meaning to me because of its location. The murders took place in a spot that has very important family and community memories.

I will not deny that.
I doubt that we need more of them.
We had 1 on the corner here,
about maybe 50 years ago, or so.
An Italian killed his 40-some-odd-year-old son.
I disliked him; gross.

I deny that: the cause of the murders
was the murderers' Moslem philosophy. Tell me that I 'm rong.

If he was explaining the cause, the motive, of the murders,
then I differ in my evaluation of the quality of his work,
tho admittedly, I know not the law of Canadian trial practice.

You are wrong.

The motive may have come from a cultural belief, it is not based in Islam. There is a significant difference.

U know this for a FACT??? Please explain the difference.

U deny that defendants r Moslem fanatics??
U think that thay 'd have done the same thing if thay were Baptists or Methodists ?
