Poteen is probably made in pot stills, that's why it's more whisky like than vodka. Do a Google search on it.

Smile It is made in pot stills and use an implement called a "worm"
The worm as far as I know is a copper pipe twisted round and round. As I say, don't know a lot about production. The liquid is boiled and I'm not sure whether it's the smell of the smoke or the steam from, but that is usually how they are detected Crying or Very sad

Watching someone try to print his resignation letter this morning made me smile. The printers were out of service, and he was getting positively frantic. He needs to be in NYC 2 weeks from today - and that letter HAD to be handed in.

:)Grand Duke, does she share. Question

My brother tried some at a New Year's Eve party last year. He said it was evaporating off his tongue as he was sipping it. He didn't like it much! I think she has a small farm in Staffordshire, and maybe the coppers/HMC&E aren't looking for it in places like that.

What made me (sort of) smile, today?
The last day of the school term, here in Melbourne, Oz. Very Happy
Phew! What a blessed relief to stop! Talk about crawling to the finishing line by your finger nails! Shocked I have never seen so many exhausted people in one place, at one one time!

Are you up North or in the Republic? I cycled through Ireland in June - from Larne to Rosslare in 3.5 days!

To be honest it was that quick I can't remember the exact route, but I can remember (maybe not in strict order) Larne, Ballyclare, Loch Neagh, Portadown, Newry, Dundalk, Drogheda(sp?), Dublin, Rathdrum (Wicklow Mnts), Wexford, Rosslare. It was part of a UK tour circular route start/finish here in Eboracum (York)- 828 miles in 13 days. Raised £250 for UK Cancer Research but was holiday really! Where would Lisburn be on that route?

Smiled at outpouring of love and affection for mamajuana and Craven. Very Happy
Made me want to start an "Ode to..." or "I appreciate..." thread, where once in a while we could set down a little post, letting someone in particular know how they are valued.

Osso's bittersweet post on mama's thread made me think it might be good to say these things, while we are still here to hear them. (I still think on some level, mama knows.)
