Laughing at Margo, Guinness has it's uses also, but the one for sciatica may not be available there, the illicit brew "poteen". This is known to cure
every possible ailment. This poteen is the original and strongest.
I Googled it there and the weaker legal brand is first mentioned.
If you dig deep enough the original poteen appears. It is made from potatos.
Seriously I wouldn't advise anyone to drink the illicit brew. If it's not just
spot-on it is fatal. Exclamation

GD, have you tried yoga? It's as good of a cure for sciatica as anything else. I have that problem once in a while, and it seems that nothing but several days of relaxation on a nice firm bed, along with a little gentle stretching, will help.

So, what made me smile today? The Neph and I had lunch with the Goddess of Love and it was SO lovely. He's completely in love with her...Eva, you should have heard him talk about you on the way home! Smile

one of my kid's (big for 19, looks 23) made me smile today,,,we went out to lunch at a fancy brew pub. he said 'order me a pint of sammy adams i'll be right back'.
i sat down, ordered mine, got a menue. he came back from the lav, sat down, the bartender threw a coaster in front of him and asked him what he'd have...he told him what he wanted. the barman started to pour, noticed the sweat forming about his brow and asked for his id.....of course he left his id at home as usual....and that was that.

Smiling too, LibertyD! A really nice time. Thank you again. I'm glad I made a good impression on him. He's a good kid. And I didn't want him to feel left out of the "adults'" conversation. I remember hating that when I was his age. Y'know?

Funny that about the Guinness but my first clear memory of drinking a pint was when I was 13 and had been to the dentist for some extractions and to have a brace fitted. My parents took me & siblings to a pub for supper and bought me a pint of Guinness 'for medicinal purposes'. And it worked, as I fell asleep within an hour!

It's still sore. It's always worse in the mornings. As long as she doesn't want me to carry any washing-machines or do gymnastics I'll struggle through!

Smokingunne - I've heard of Poteen. Made of potatoes you say? Like vodka?

Smile littlek yes it would be a "spirit" although it would be more whisky tasting. We used to hear rumours (true or untrue) that some unscrupulous
bar owners added a little to the whisky to make it go further. I used to get
it for £5.00 a bottle when a bottle of whisky might have been about £8.00.
A teaspoon threw into the fire produced a large blue flash Idea

Wow, good for fuel as well as causing inebriation: Poteen must surely be the all-purpose cold weather drink!

What gets it to taste more like whiskey?

Smile I can't answer that, no knowledge of production.

I must add it is my opinion that I thought it tasted like whisky, I am not a spirit drinker but have always likened it to whisky, I have drank both.

You may be right because it was traded in vodka bottles. Confused

My brother's girlfriend's granny makes it (in England). Not sure of the exact process but she stores it in jam-jars!

Smile It has become really difficult to obtain poteen because the police and
Customs and Excise people were catching them left, right and centre.
It was mostly produced in deepest rural countryside, it was also easily detected. Exclamation

Grand Duke, does she share. Question
