@Butrflynet,
Do over-do your gardening activities, will you, Butrflynet? (Though I know it's tempting to!)
Easy does it.

@djjd62,
I put a sign out in the front of the lane that says "WATER FOR HORSES". Its been real hot and the amish have their buggies being pulled by these sweaty horses. Yesterday, there was an AMishman who had the hose turned on (We have an old irrigation well all hooked up out near the edge of a field) and he was washing his horses hooves.
Apparently the heat on theior hoofs can cause them to founder if it gets too hot on em. Remember a hoorse is walking around as if we would be if we were walking on our middle finger.

How did the evolution of horses manage a thing like that? When a stallion is mounted on a mare it must be up upon half a middle finger.

Actually fm--that post was completely stupid. Every species would founder if it got too hot for them. Horses are desert creatures aren't they. Arabian.

You have just caused an error that took the life of one of the hardest working hamsters. But the good news is that we wrote down the error and will give it to our overlords so that they can figure out how to make it not happen again. Go in peace friend, we must now pour out some liquor for our fallen comrade. We miss you homeslice!

well, not exactly smile, but close to it

Two nine-year-old girls having WAY too much fun for hours and hours with PhotoBooth. (On our new Mac.) If I wasn't such a privacy freak I'd so post some of their photos/ videos, hilarious.

@ossobuco,
I did! Love it. The (free!) iPod touch that came with it, too.

So nice to have a functioning computer. Hadn't really realized how many little weird work-arounds and such I had to do with the old computer (because it was way out of date) until suddenly everything works the way it is supposed to. Definitely smile-inducing.

One sleep to seeing Thomas, joeblow and Mr. joeblow again.

Definitely smiling.

(the two bottles of Baco Noir that are already in the car to lubricate a round of Scrabble just make me grin)

@littlek,
I just came across this thread and there was littlek, with such wonderful news. I think more and more countries realize that corridors are needed for animals to have enough land in which to survive, not just a square of a few hundred acres.

Big smile.

A blog made made me smile today by using the term "public affairs" and forgetting the 'l' in "public". Evidently I'm regressing into adolescence.

(I'm mature enough, however, to withhold a link.)
