@realjohnboy,
Good for you, RJB! Nothing worse than a clogged toilet!

And I received an online red rose from a friend here. That made me smile. (It's St Valentine's Day in Oz.)

Watching sozlet and neighbor girl M (age 2) play in the snow in the backyard. The snow's about to M's armpits. They've been sledding (we have a nice bunny hill) and now are getting started on an igloo.

@sozobe,
Oh my goodness... it was time for M to go and she just wouldn't. We tried every trick in the book, nope. Put her boots on, she'd take them off. Finally emailed her dad and asked him to pick her up (as opposed to us dropping her off, as planned), he did. She started wailing and said, among other things, "I'm afraid I'll miss them... (wail)" We reassured her we'd see her again soon but she wouldn't be comforted.

I play on-line scrabble. I got randomly matched up this evening with someone who lived in the Buckhead area of Atlanta at the same time as I did. 1973 or so.
We found that we knew the same places and even some of the same street characters from 37 years ago.

Got an email from my ex. His latest show is up at the theater. This is not a promo on a2k, unless you are local to that and already are a subscriber, which I doubt - but a way of showing I'm very pleased.

My ex is not a baddie, except that in many ways we all are. I am happy with his course.

Well, not today but last eveing while dining at the Outback.

A young boy (couldn't have been more than eleven or twelve) Came to my table and said, "Bon Jour". I looked in amazement at his smiling face and replied, "Shouldn't that be Bon Soir?" Why he chose me, I still don't know. I must have had the look of a teacher. Then he responded with some French phrase that I didn't understand, and I asked him to please translate. As he walked away, he said, "Let them eat Cake". I told him as he departed. I don't think Marie Antoinette really said that.

As his parents passed my table, I told them that they had a genius for a kid. They smiled a little stiffly which led me to believe that their genius boy may be a bit of a challenge.

Have been asking lots depressing question about why and how recently, got lots good and inspirational advice, feel much more skilled and stronger in life. Feeling happy because I know I am already better and when I am down again, I got lots to hold down to. This make me smile today.

I hate to spin this off in another direction (no, I don't really):
Some of yall know Andy/Clubber as a player on some of the A2K sports threads. He works for me and is the singer in a high-energy goth-like band. He has also had 2 novels published in the horror genre.
He was in Chattanooga this weekend for some convention (Connoga). He did his music, he appeared on several panel discussions and did readings from his books.
And then there was this: the producer and director and film crew came in from LA to film the ending scene of a video. It entailed Andy getting chased into a kindergarten classroom (small desks-no students) and getting his head beaten in by some monster. He won't tell me how they found a school letting them shoot there.
So at 2 am they went to Kroger, the whole gang with spiked hair, make-up and lots of sweat still pouring down, and bought:
> 1 cantaloupe
> 3 cans of crushed beets.

Does anyone ever buy crushed beets?
