Making a new friend. An unlikely friend, but an awesome one. And one I'm really grateful for.

Good for you -- unexpected friends tend to be especially gratifying.

Making me smile today was my visit to boomerang's together with blatham. It was the first time I had the pleasure to meet her in real life. The whole afternoon was lovely. One of the highlights for me was listening to boomer's and blatham's in-depth discussion of how to renovate ones home. Others were Mo's drumming performance, his tutorial on the rhythmic primitives his drumming is built on, and his brief about the eight (?) necessary steps for surviving a zombie invasion. And, of course, boomerang's crackers, her cheese, and her apples, of which there must now be a deep vacuum in the boomerang family's kitchen.

What a shame I cannot take the three to New Jersey with me!

@ehBeth,
I'm sure the two of you would have fit in perfectly at that table. Your real life self received perfect reviews from all who experienced it yet, and we all agreed we'd love to meet Setanta. Mo is extremely interested in the Civil War, so that would be a perfect fit, too.

@H2O MAN,
I'm actually laughing at the mutual back-scratching putative liberals get up to.

Learning that my genius nephew, who's busted his ass tirelessly to be the best he can be, who neglected to even apply for a safety school, was among the 400+ students accepted by his first choice of schools... YALE!

I wonder if he'll still talk to me...

@Thomas,
Wow. I swear I didn't read Dyslexia's comment when I posted. But he's sitting in the room next to mine now, so I guess it must have been telepathy.

Just happened to be on FB at the time...!

It did make me smile tho, both for turbofrog himself and for your sis' evident delight.
