When you've saved them from public humilation? Surprised

Why are the book publishers even dealing with these precious folk? Do they have some right to be published, no matter what gibberish they may write Confused

I'm no longer directly in the fray. But I get the sense that there's tremendous pressure to publish. Most of the people I complain about are experts in their field, which apparently is enough for an editor desperate to expand the list.

Publishing (nonfiction) has always had people like this. They just used to be the minority. Now I'm not so sure. I may be that I get the messes and the books that require a lot of work and fixing. It's possible that the majority need just normal editing.

I have the feeling that you might be right there, Roberta!

Maybe your claim to fame is fixing hopeless books? Making them respectable?

My nephew just made up a song. It started with the line "Christmas is sooooo saaaaad, Santa Claus drank the regular miiiilk. And ate the cooookieeeees." and went to "Rowing the boat down the roooooad, carefully! Carefully rowing the boat dooooown the roooooad." The boat was a kazoo.

BBB
The sun is shining in Albuquerque and it's 40 degrees. The deep snow drifts are starting to melt. I even ventured out to the grocery store yesterday to buy some bird seed for the hungry critters.

My every-2nd-day-walk with my friend, W, this morning.
An unusually cool morning for this summer. Lovely! Little groups of ducks & other birds were sitting contentedly on the river bank, having their cool morning meetings. And I swear I saw 2 young kingfishers! Surprised We walked our usual stretch & a bit, but this time we didn't even raise a sweat!

I sent an email (pm) to an A2K member whom I have never met. I had a question and I figured he might know the answer.
He responded within an hour or so with a two page analysis of what I was asking about.
That was very nice.

I started a thread about beautiful animals. Every time I go there and look at the photos I smile. And when I look for more photos to add I smile.

Discovering that if we fly to London first, E and I will be likely to really, seriously, be able to afford the trip to Vienna.

I was getting nervous.

When I was in my tweens and teens I had a passion for Devon Violets and Parma Violets.

I was never able to find Devon Violets again, but today ... when Helen and Ruth and I went to the flea market we found a British Treats stall and they had
