Well I certainly do enjoy seeing certain teams lose. Of course as you can imagine the real thrill is seeing a baseball game going along very nicely for a team and there it is the 9th inning. There they are the top of the 9th winning by 4 or 5 runs and then...pfft! The other team (and at times it has been my beloved Yankees) comes in and stages a comeback! Sometimes it is over then and there and sometimes it heads into extra innings but the real delight was just seeing the detested teams lost victory. Hearing about the losing teams fans who left in the 8th inning knowing their team had 'won'. Or the alleged sports fan who shuts the radio or television off before that final inning is finished.

The best scenario possible for me however would be for the Red Sox to make it to the 7th game of the World Series and to be winning big time in the 9th and then...Pfft! They lose! (apparently I am still in pain from last years horrendous slaughter).

Oh, and I just saw the Boston mention on your name tag, I want to make clear my detestment of the Green Monster Bumblers has nothing to do with you. As you know it is just a Yankee requirement. By the way have they traded off Manny Ramirez yet? First they lost Pedro and now Manny. Ah, this is sweet!

I don't doubt for a second that people get a bigger rush from booing rivals than from rooting for their fav team - though, seeing the red sox win the series was unbelievable, even for this luke warm fan. I had great fun booing the Yankees when they played off against the Indians (sometime in the late 90s when I was a bartender in GA).

Tell me when you're likely to be on scrabble, BB.

I'll be on the site around 11pm (real exciting social life here). I need to reinstall the software first

I'm not a Red Sox fan, but I love Manny. The Boston fans are looking bad booing him. Baseball is not an obsession of mine (thank god).

I've been trawling through my computer - and found some old Abuzz threads!
Laughing about Moony's "Who buggered Abuzz?" - part of which covers Lil K's time in Oz! Bloody funny!

There was some great writing in dem days!

Margo - threads you'd saved?

Beth - I got a good grin when I bought mine and it'd only been 15 years.

Picturing the possibility of me riding a bicycle just made me smile. Okay, actually laugh out loud and slap my knee.

I started walking a couple of miles a day with Bear this past week. That pretty much taxes out all my coordination, so Biking is out of the question.

Congrats, ehBeth!

Oh, and I got a job today! Very Happy

Hooray on the job, Squinney!

The 14 year old boys in the neighbourhood are quite taken by the bicycle. After being interviewed by 3 guys in 2 shops, I was talked into a mountain bike - apparently best for the kind of riding I'd do around here. But I'm not used to the extra bounce I'm getting with the fancy dual suspension. Maybe I'll make it off my home block tomorrow Confused

Mountain bike... Does that mean you got gears to change and stuff? That always threw me off. Never could do it wiout popping the chain.

Hey, if the 14 year olds like it, ya did all right.

21 speeds, no less!

I've figgered that out - and the quick-release for the front wheel ... now to cope with how it feels to ride. I've sent an email to BoGoWo begging for advice.
