HI WIYAKA! Long time no see! How is life treatin' you?

nimh, I only see squares. I tried to discover some deeper meaning behind them, but am failing.

My good friend got into Columbia University's School of Journalism and International Relations program. She's a rockstar, am very proud of her. Way to go, girl. Smiling at the thought of all celebrations on the way.

Hm, perhaps you need to have Chinese fonts installed or something?

Its a very nice bit of ASCII art (is what I think its called): a farm with windows, clouds above and a picket fence in front ... very dreamy. But the windows look like Chinese characters, so probably if you dont have those installed youll only see squares.

Greetings Dagmar and all. Can't get the Chinese spam, because of my internet security. Ah well, I've gotten plenty already. Last spam was a phish from someone in France. They weren't too smart. They used their actual yahoo addy,so it could be traced directly. I got a nice letter in French from Yahoo abuse. Made me grin to think of it.

I have been training my Cat on the highbar recently, and this produced a smile from me this morning when she completed her routine of a 360 swing, with front flip, whereupon she went into a back salto with half twist into a classic Tkatchev (swing down release, fly over high bar in straddle position to regrasp) completing the session with a perfect pirouette.

Marvellous.

This news story
ASHINGTON, April 14 - President Bush said Thursday that he had been surprised to learn in the newspaper of his administration's decision last week to require Americans to have passports to enter the country from Mexico or Canada by 2008. He said he had asked the State and Homeland Security Departments to look into other means of tightening border security.

Citing concerns about the long lines that the new rules might create at crossings, Mr. Bush said that after reading of the change, he asked Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to determine whether the law that mandated the tighter controls would allow fingerprint imaging or some other technique instead.

Mr. Bush said his reaction on hearing about the change was, "What's going on here?"

I woke up this morning to find that Sam, my partner had four cats lying above her head on her pillow. The only exposed part I saw of Sam was the top of her head. I even took pictures of her feline toupe.

Wiyaka just sent me this photo - it made me smile and laugh and then just go into a rolling giggle. Thanks, Wiyaka. Very Happy

You're quite welcome, dear.

Today I smiled at two different things. One was a phone call from our adopted son in NM, who woke us up aat the ungodly time of 8:06 AM on a Sunday! HIs wife is having the baby three days early, at home with a midwife. Ultrasound said a baby girl, but we'll see.

The other was watching my largest sled dog Inyan push his nose to the bedroom window, above our pillows. One of our oldest cats, Snooze, gently reached out a paw and tapped Inyan's left ear. Snooze then resumed sitting regally in the window as though nothing happened. Inyan, jumped back and looked to see if I had been the culprit.

Snooze has been known to give the pups lessons on other occassions. One time, one of the pups had overstepped Snooze's boundries. They were both sitting on the floor facing each other. Snooze rose up on both back feet, put a paw on the pup's nose and then gently nipped the pup in the ear. Just as slowly as a slow motion movie, he lowered himself back to the floor and looked at the now contrite pup. That pup never crossed that boundry again.

I'm missing realjohnboy's stories ... and cant seem to come up with any myself, not really. Tho there's been enough to smile on - like the two kids a friend of my sister's brought to my sister's birthday party yesterday - they were her sister's, 3 1/2 and almost 2 - they were the cutest. Little one was a girl who kept grinning at everything, just insanely amused at her brother whatever he did even if he was just standing, and doing this really funny grin - they were so like Beavis and Butthead. "Hehhhehheheh ... cool".

As I was closing the window, the outer storm window came crashing down and cracked into multiple pieces. one fell out. I was about to ignore it, write the landlord to ask what he wants me to do or whether he wants to take a look at it when I saw the window encircled by now quite imbibed neighbors who were having a picnic outside. oh boy. i informed that i'm afraid to touch the thing so as not to have my hands chopped off like under a guillotine. one of the drunks demanded to be let in and removed the storm promptly. all the rest of them stood outside and offered expert advice, bobbing from left to right, quite purple in their faces some of them. very funny, especially now that the broken glass has safely gone away.

Wow what a pic!

Bluebells are making me smile everywhichway lately. (Mine are a different type though, rounder leaves.)

Oh and I just remembered a giant smile but I'll put that where it belongs (other thread.)

Today, I smiled as we spoke with our son in NM again. He's giving the baby the middle name of our our favorite uncle, who passed away last year.

The other was to see one of our cats at the back door asking to be put on his harness and tether. Snooze has just been out twice on the harness before and now looks on it as his right, just like the pups.
