Last year I checked my wallet a few times. There was no doubt I had lost a hundred dollar bill. I figured that when I paid at the corner grocer it somehow got tipped out as I pulled some bills for my purchase. I remembered it being folded differently. The loss was all but forgotten. Yesterday, speaking to my brother by phone, he mentioned that I sent him a hundred dollars by mail, and it sure came in handy at the time. Well, I had sent him seven ones, so I thought. We had a good laugh at the mistake. I told him I don't expect it back: water under the bridge. Reminds me of W C Fields: "Was I in here yesterday, did I spend a twenty dollar bill?" "Yes you did." "What a relief. I thought I'd lost it."

That's the advantage of having different coloured bank notes, it's pretty hard to make that sort of mistake.
