Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind just came out on DVD here, nimh. I've got it first on my queue on Netflix.
It got good reviews here. The main screenwriter wrote Being John Malcovich, which I thought was fantastic--surreal, campy, whimsically melancholy.
I gotta add that the one difference with the girl and boy in Eternal Sunshine is that I'm not half as cute as he is ;-)
Bunch of stuff made me smile.
On Friday I spent my lunch making a copy of the office key so that I'd not have to borrow one when I pull all-nighters. It was already the 3rd copy, and that the seemingly identical copies wouldn't work was frustrating.
I was mired in traffic for some reason, and losing my valued lunch to sit in traffic probably would have bothered me, till I saw why.
There was a 3 day walk, and a bunch of walkers. The enthusiasm and support from onlookers made me smile.
I didn't know what it was for but figured it was for breast cancer, as such things tend to be (I've never seen anything for nut cancer like that).
True to form, I wanted to be a brat and demonstrate my support in my own way. I quickly vetoed my own idea of yelling "I support breast cancer", too edgy a try... A love for breastacles maybe? "I support boobs"?
Well, I didn't want to offend anyone, and there were a lot of older ladies (and we all know how menopause completely decimates a sense of humor) so I decided to stifle my rambunctious urge... till I saw three gals in what I thought were fairy outfits.
Turns out they were bee costumes painted with "the walking boo-bees".
That sealed the deal, while I was waiting for my key at Home Depot I made my sign; "I support boobies!"
On my way back, I honked and drove by, and they loved it. Even the old ones (you know, the ones over 18).
An old lady (you know, like 30 or something) even pretended she was gonna flash me. And the really really old ones (you know, the ones like over 35 and stuff) enjoyed it too, I saw a silver haired babe curled over in laughter.
Anywho, when I got to the office, the key worked. So Friday was a good day. Almost as good as needling old ladies.
------
Before that, was Thursday, (I'm told this comes immediately prior to Friday) and the company had their quarterly shin dig (how do you spell that?).
I got a "thinking outside the box" award, it was nothing special (especially since I helped make it, as I manage the graphic artist) for creating problem solving and interminable shifts (31 hours, 21 the next day....).
Anywho, on our way to drop a co-worker off at the airport we thought we saw a co-worker's car. It was the same older car, and even had a WI plate (in CA).
So I decided to moon her, and as we approached the car to pass it I went with a very firm press (no time to lower the windows and hang).
I turned to see her reaction and saw a car load of gang-banger types with bulging eyes trying to stare straight ahead and pretend they hadn't seen my abomination pressing against the window next to them.
The graphic artist was hysterical and I yelled at the driver to get us out of there.
The gals still laugh about that one.
---------
Lastly, I'm happy because I moved this weekend, and though I can't yet afford a bed (the server move and my move wiped me out) I am closer to it, and the dreams of sleeping on a bed are both more frequent and more happy.
The new place came with a cool roomie, my own awesome bathroom, and a cat, who likes to play (and is shaved like those joke pics I posted), the sight of which convinced my cousin to finally shave the cat I have been begging to shave.
Life is good.
craven just made me frown when he says that old ladies are in their 30's...
and then i smiled because i'm in such awesome shape for an ol' lady.
And the really really old ones (you know, the ones like over 35 and stuff)

"Really, really old" is over 35?
Well, I'd say he succeeded, huh Montana?!
The idea of Cdk mooning a bunch of gangbangers made me smile.
A good friend of mine just accepted a job offer. He had been laid off nearly two years ago.
Congrats to your friend George.
What made me smile today was watching my dog at the park this morning running after the falling leaves and squirrels in the park. She was SO cute. It's a gorgeous, perfect fall day here in Maryland.
aww, that made me smile doglover...
what made me smile was the cool air here this morning too. maybe fall IS coming!

Not to be pedantic or anything, but I said the old ones are older than 18, the 30's was "really really...".
But I was kidding, I've spent years trying to get into Letty's pants and she's like 38 or something.

Yeah, it rattled me just a bit, haha!
LOL Craven. You're a nut
He really is, isn't he?!
Still mooning people from cars, Craven? Are you still making prank calls and sneaking cigarettes, too? Watch out, you could lose your allowance that way.
Ah, youth........
Had my first "class" of a course I've been really wanting to do, but that was almost going to be cancelled because not enough people had signed up yet: Circus Techniques.
Yes, no kidding.
Gonna do ball-walking and monocycling and juggling skittles and tightrope-walking and all that kind of stuff ...
Yes, it's normally for kids - but they got an adult group as well. <giggles>
neighbour's dog came to visit again ! so we gave her some milkbones which she gracefully accepted. mrs h had boght some special 'puppy chow' in anticipation of visit by bailey and cleo. so i took a good handful of it and i thought my hand would be gobbled up - even though she is about seven years old, the puppy chow got her quite excited ! i swear she smacked her lips and smiled ! hbg
playing ping pong with my best friend
