Rick mate, how did graduation go ? Had a good party ???

Mr. Green The graduation was just awesome. I was in a suit (although that is not necessary), a lot of teachers, a lot of positive words, no crying though, and a lot of congratulations. Friday evening a friend of mine threw a party, departed at 3:45 in the morning, it could have been nice but I had to get up at 8:00 (work). Rolling Eyes Was a bit tired though, but I'll get over it Cool

Yesterday was a brilliant brilliant day.
We started off with a very good dog walk, then I went to get my hair cut and summerized, then off to a florist to pick the flowers for a very special arrangement, then zoomed home to get dressed up, and then - off to Miss Rita's Surprise 80th Birthday Party! Miss Rita is a wonderful lady. She came to Canada as a war bride in 1946, raised her 3 sons pretty much on her on as her husband died when the boys were 4, 6 and 8, worked until she was nearly 70. The turn-out at the party was great, church friends, people she'd worked with 30/40 years ago!, pals from her seniors club that she travels with, current and former neighbours, friends, family ... everyone was there. She was delighted, and surprised and as charming as ever. I sat with some neighbours briefly and then joined a table with some seniors (partly to make sure those who had mobility problems were attended to - I was pretty busy on the punch and cake-fetching front). That was a super way to spend an afternoon. The ladies I sat with (yes, I really really really am referring to someone as a lady! Shocked ) were so funny - raucous and charming and full of wonderful stories. I drove one of them home. She was a war bride with Miss Rita, and they were Scout Mothers together in the 1950's. She had marvellous stories to tell.

Later, I took the dogs out for another stroll (can't say walk around here too much). Little Janetta joined us again. She and Cleo love to walk together. Janetta had stories to tell about her friend Olivia, who has just given her a Princess Pal friendship bracelet. I was appropriately enthralled Very Happy

A wonderful tiny moment on the doggie front. Cleo (the most nervous of small dogs 2 years ago), approached Janetta's baby cousin (about 18 months) on her little trike/bike/wagon thingie and licked her baby finger. Both of them grinned and were very happy. Cleo bounced for a whole block after that little success.

Sitting on my balcony, looking at my plants and polishing my shoes, at length, with the sun out and dublab.com playing in the background.

Just chilling ... I was simply - relaxed. Contented even, pewoowapping along.

Thats cool.

Oh, and returning late in the evening, having gone cycling out to the forest, another of those amazing skies. Its the one thing I would miss about Holland.

Plus, a black bird perching on my balcony rail, looking at me ...

Two phone calls with colleagues in Sweden. Two very nice ladies who will both start their four weeks vacation on Monday. They are so nice and friendly and make me smile almost every time we talk.

I hope they will both have great vacations and even get some sun in Sweden where they are having the worst summer since 1928!

Hi Jer, Congrats on that 'home run.' Victor Murphy, Welcome to A2K. Life only sucks if you don't make it better - all by yourself.

I smiled today because it was a great, lazy, day at work! We goofed off {unheard of} and enjoyed it!

Also, my Paddy {cat} is here in front of my monitor, looking at me as if to say ... "whassup" ...!

Life is good:)

I had such a nice relaxing day today. Woke up late, enjoyed a little of the sunshine, watered the plants, chatted with my sweetie on instant messenger for hours, then went out shopping with my roommate. It was her first time at Trader Joe's. Yay for great natural food cheap!
My whole lovely calm day made me smile.

some group of kids outside on the square (from the adjoining conservatory?), sitting on a bench, swinging into some cute close-harmony singing.
