What made you smile today?

I have three big things to smile about today. Two are political, and the other is purely personal.

1. It's the 50th anniversary of Brown v. the Board of Education!

2. I was driving this afternoon and saw the cutest lesbian couple on a motorcycle with a sidecar with a little sign on the back reading "Just Married." I am so proud of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!

3. I heard a song by my friend's band on the radio. The band is based out of Austrin, and this was a Boston station. So exciting! I was dancing in the car.

Any possibility of a quick explanation of what that was about, marycat?

B v B makes me smile too (of course)

Smiling b/c my daughter hit a milestone and I'm thinking how funny it is that she just got home from the hospital yesterday - at least that's how it seems.

They grow up so quickly, onyx!

I am smiling because it is after noon and I am still in pajamas!

We now have 2 working showers in my house.
Just in time - my 15-year-old son has discovered hygiene.

Smiling at the moment at my cat. I have a bowl with rocks and shells from a recent beach visit on my desk and I guess I threw a Q-tip in there when I was done using it (ok, so, I'm a slob). My cat has been trying frantically, all kitten-eyed, to get the Q-tip out. There's good smelly stuff fresh from the beach and he wants my used Q-tip. He did eventually get it out, after I made it easy for him. Now he's all wild-eyed.

Eeek what was in your ear lil'k? Today my lawyer made me smile he is so Texan, suit coat, shirt open and the neck, with his jeans and boots. He is tall 6'3" and so cute. Oh well he is so married and happy. But still he is great to look at.

I dunno, JD. He just adores those things. Q-tips and used tissue when I have a cold.

Bean is like that too - but a dog not a cat. I think cats like cotton cause it stick in the claws and stuff like that.

JD, maybe that's it.... Hey, did you ever talk with someone more knowledgable than I about the photo-posting problems?

Scoates, what makes you laugh?

It doesn't need to be hilarious. I'm just really tired from work and school, and I haven't been getting any sleep because of baby/sickness. So I just need a little cheer up to get through the day. I don't get to go home for another five hours, and I'm absolutely wasted.

There was a great Kodak moment when I was out with the dogs tonight.

About 3 or 4 blocks into our walk, we go past a long block of wooden fencing. The fencing is in all states of repair and disrepair. Each homeowner has done something a bit different. Until about a month ago, there was a row of some scrubby tree in front of all of the fencing, so many falling down sections were hidden. People have been out repairing their fences since then.

As we passed one, almost-repaired, section I looked over and saw a ginger tabby peering through a broken fence section. Her front paws were on either side of the opening and she was staring through at my two dogs. She looked a bit surprised, and very lovely in her orangeness.

A camera would have been nice at that moment.

I smiled, and hurried the dogs past. No point in ruining the moment by letting the dogs slow down to harangue the cat.

SCoates, you have a baby?

Um, so, lessee..... isn't reading this thread making you smile?

No?

Ok, three nuns were walking down the street when they crossed paths with a flasher. He did his thing and the first nun had a stroke, then the second nun had a stroke! But, the third nun, she wouldn't touch him.
