Oh, that's wonderful!
Now, WHERE IS NIMH?!! Something in my "your posts" list made me go "oh goodie!", I tried to figure out what it was (I often "read" things before I've consciously read them), figured out it was seeing nimh's name. But it was as the person who STARTED this thread, not a new post. Hmph. Miss him. Hope he's OK? I think I saw reference by ehBeth that he's around, just not here.
Took a walk in the Black Forest, methinks, Soz.
this morning I went out for brekkies to a local cafe and as I pulled into the parking lot a young man approached me saying, "could you help me out? I am hungry" so I say to the young man "come on in and I will buy you breakfast" he agreed and went into the cafe with me and ordered a large breakfast, turned towards me from the waitress and said to me "thank the lord, I am sooo hungry" I responded "if you want to thank the lord for your breakfast, you can also give him the bill." (we both ate, I paid the bill and he had nothing more to say)
Didn't know you were an instrument of the almight, dys. Is there a particular form of address I should use when speaking to you?
I got a call from my older brother (60) announcing that he and his wife would be coming East in September. He said that he had been in touch with our younger brother, and his family of four would join us.
I enjoy seeing them all but, being frugal Lutherans, they expect us to house them all in our place.
Last year we moved out when they arrived. We gave them the house and we went to stay with our friends, the Hampton's. One of my employees may have let slip that that meant the "Hampton Inn."
Anyway, they are all coming to visit in the fall and they will be staying in hotels! Sweet.
Oh, yes. There's this. My older brother is looking for hotels: must be *** or 2 and a half; and must have a coffee maker machine in the room.
I have never tasted coffee in my life!
I'm smiling today.
I laid back on a float in my sister's pool, under the hot sun and smiled. The one location where nothing bothers me.
Floating is good for the soul.
I will float a Baby Ruth in the pool tomorrow and see what happens...
Jjorge's kindness made me smile today.

For some unknown reason I receive a lot of mailings and phone calls from the Republican National Committee. They assume, I guess, that since I'm a white guy, late 50's, small-business owner in a heavily Republican precinct, I must be one of them.
Truth be known, I have never voted for one of them, except for John Warner, our senior Senator.
Good man.
Anyway, on Thursday I got a "personalized" autographed picture of George and Laura Bush with the message "Thanks, (johnboy), for your loyal support..."
An employee of mine moved into our cottage. On her "to do" list was changing her voter registration address. Yippee. She will be the only other Dem around (if she is a Dem; I think she is). -rjb-
I visited my brother and Sister-in-law today.
They have reached the stage in their yard where they have many plants that need dividing and many extras that they are happy to give away.
We had a great visit and I came back with 'muchas plantas' for my new yard ie. coneflowers, rudebeckia, phlox, hostas etc. etc.
There is a huge smile on my face after spending two weeks in the East, getting to visit with my sons.
There is also a big smile on my face for the joy of coming home.
Walked into a favourite little Vietnamese cafe yesterday. One of the owners looked up, saw me & asked: "Soup?". Made me wonder just how many noodle soups I've had there over the past couple of years. Seems I no longer even need to order now!
I've been needing a new car for a year now, but have been hesitant about the expense. So I saved (what else is new!) and I've narrowed down the field. I want a convertible so its between a BWM M3, Mercedes CLK and a Porsche Boxster. My man has been a living doll about the year long search, going with me to the dealers, test driving and asking a lot of important questions. Today, we spoke again, intently, (as I do not want to make the wrong decision) and he leaned over to me and said, "Babe, you should get the car YOU want, and let daddy bring home the Porsche." He is such a cute brat.
