Good, honest physicians who questioned Covid origin stories, rapid-forced vaccines, questionable statements, treatments, and responses around Covid and vaccines were maligned, censured, fired.

Hard-working doctors, nurses, firefighters, teachers, bus drivers, etc who chose not to take an untested vaccine were fired.

Many people knew we were heading down a dangerous authoritarian path. Questioning the narrative ruined careers and relationships.

This authoritarian encroachment on speech should remind us of so many lessons this nation has seen in other countries and experienced here.

The Freedom Convoy (Convoi de la liberté) wasn't a strike but started as a protest against the vaccine mandates for crossing the United States border, And was condemned both by the trucking industry and the unions.

The Facebook page for the convoy has shared content from, and listed as an organiser, the Wexit co-founder and Yellow Vest Canada organizer Patrick "Pat" King, who has previously hosted counter-protests to anti-racism rallies, spread COVID-19 misinformation, and spread the Great Replacement conspiracy theory.

Correct. The key players were all radical right wing and/or conspiracy types. And those who joined in support were consumers of radical right disinformation or misinformation sources.

Further, there has been no suppression of speech. For example, here on Vancouver Island we still see small protests (8 or 10 people) once a week or so on certain street corners from these folks. That much of this is imported from the US far right is evidenced by these folks' profligate use of flags which is definitely not a tradition here. No arrests or demands they cease protesting have occurred at any point in time. All charges have stemmed from blockades in Ottawa and at two border crossings.
