Yes. Apparently the vehicles had standard (not automatic) transmission.
The girls had only driven automatic, so were unfamiliar with using a clutch.
Not a good time to have to learn.

I don't how Jonathan made it through the "Viking Games" without
someone putting an axe or an arrow in him.

I thought the boat race was dumb. Why all of a sudden clump everybody
into two teams? Totally out of context with the rest of the race.

Well, and here I thought I would love to do this show. Guess I'd have to bring someone who knew how to drive a standard.

I felt HORRIBLE for the old married couple. He was sweating to death from counting. Laughing

I don't think the father/daughter team will last long. Dad is too slow.

Jonathan is terrible.

I really thought they would come in last.

I felt so sorry for the girls searching the hay bales. 8 hours at it! What a shame, so unlucky.

The father/daughter team is slow. But the father is knowledgeable about many things, and the two of them seem very determined. I don't know it they'll win, but I think they'll be around for a while.

The old couple was making me noivous. Somebody shouldn't drop dead from this stuff.

I'm stunned and impressed that anyone would look through hay for eight hours. There should be some kind of reward for this.

Jonathan is a blight on the landscape and to humanity.

I wonder what would happen if he actually assaulted Victoria. I have seen several times where he is so irate and throwing himself around and whacking the air near her that it is only a matter of time before he physically assaults her. I certainly hope that not only will he be thrown off the show but that he be prosecuted (whether she wants to or not).

Now if she were to hurt him, I could probably handle that.

Hey, old Jonathan actually handled himself pretty well at the hayfield.

I felt so bad for the sisters. What miserable luck!

That ice bar was fantastic. I'd love to try it.

Favorite scene from last episode: Ma & Pa getting on the bicycle and
actually making up ground on the wrestlers. Go geezers, go!

The girl who went through 100 bales had to be doing something seriously long. Considering how the others found theres (just out there in the open from unrolling it), I think exhaustion led to a lot of carelessness.

I didn't want them to go. She sure went a lot longer than I would have been able to. Good thing she wasn't wearing a thong. Did you see her nude colored panties rising up the longer she went at it? Laughing

It'a almost painful to see the grandparents sweat their way through one challenge after another. I admire their determination, but I'm still worried that the grandpa will have a heart attack.

Yeah.

When they were told they were the last team to arrive, I almost felt they were ready to say "we had a good time, and realized our love for each other is strong...yabba yabba yak, yak" ......mostly because they paused when they were told that it wasn't an elimination round.

I agree, Joa. I think they were ready to say good-bye and that the reprieve was not entirely welcome.

It finally happened. Not unexpected. Jon hit/pushed Victoria.

Another appalling bit--the woman (don't remember her name) who sat in the taxi and made remarks about over-breeding in Senegal.

Where do they find these people?

Glad the old couple is gone. Enough is enough.

Ma & Pa were having such a hard time of it that I was hoping they'd fall
short. They gave it a good try, but - as you said - enough is enough.

Even the host stepped out of his usual non-involved stance and told
Fathead he should talk to Victoria.

I loved it when Gus was trying to tell his daughter to go on ahead so that
he could have some more beer. I was developing a thirst just looking at
those big beautiful steins o' suds!

I think the wrestlers are not long for the game. Another stunt like getting
on the wrong train (when the rest of the racers are in taxis, yet) and it's
see ya later.

Yes, the host told Jon to talk to Victoria. I don't think the result was what he intended.

I get the feeling that Gus might have a bit of a drinking problem. Not because he couldn't resist all that good German beer, but because of the way his daughter reacted to his drinking some of it.

Did my ears hear right? Was there a couple who didn't know what a stein of beer is? Where do they find these people?

Yeah, I heard that too!
Now you know why these folks are on this show and not Jeopardy.

I wonder if Jonathan has ever played a team sport in his life?

Jon slapped and pushed Victoria at the same time. It looked violent to me. I was so upset. If he would give her a slap in the arm/shoulder so hard that it pushes her -- with cameras on him -- NATIONAL TELEVISION -- what in the heck does he do to her in private? I'm appalled.

I thought for sure he would be thrown off the show. I couldn't believe it when the host merely suggested that Jon go talk to Victorial. He simply continued the yelling and verbal abuse.

He was physically violent to her and that cannot be tolerated.

Debra, I agree. I was waiting for someone to say that they're off the show. He's under arrest. SOMETHING. Horrible to see. Horrible that no one did a damned thing.

Grrrrrr.

Another great moment: while making sausage, Bolo gets some raw
sausage stuffing on his hand and EATS IT OFF. Gack! Can you spell
trichinosis?

I'm glad the taxi driver kicked them out of the car!!!

Jonathan has serious issues. Did you notice the title of last night's episode was "They May Need Counseling."
