@hawkeye10,
There's no ministry of thought, racists aren't free thinkers, and you're talking absolute nonsense that only an idiot would believe.

Studies have shown children aren't naturally racist, it's something they're taught.

Why is it that whenever a black person is killed they're part of the "collective" but white people are all individuals?

I know you think you're walking a fine line, but you can't see where the line is, it's about two miles back.

You're a very stupid racist and nonce who thinks he's wrapping his bigotry and perversion in prophetic bon mots, but everyone can see they're the idiot rants of a racist nonce.

Story going around now is that the arresting officers took the shooter to Burger King. I would not be surprised to know where their sympathies are.

Do you remember the televised basketball game, where the black player shouted from the bench at a super white player on the other team, you're ...no f--N----!

This was said strictly out of frustration at seeing some white guy, who actually was a better player than any of the black guys.

Funny thing, the black guy wasn't kicked out of the game...but if some white guy had said the very same thing, he'd be called racist and then be kicked out of the game.

Why?

@edgarblythe,
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/06/arresting-offiacers-bought-dylann-roof-a-burger.html

I wouldn't read much more into it then a prisoner was hungry and the officers did their duty and got him something to eat. I certainly don't think they should have put him in the back of a van handcuffed and driven him around unbuckled.

It looks like snopes covers it pretty well....

However, the explanation for the Burger King detail in the story involving Dylann Roof could stem from laws pertaining to the rights of a prisoner in custody. A post-arrest rights violation checklist published on FindLaw details circumstances under which an individual could later claim their rights were violated, one of which is a withholding of food:

@Miller,
No, I don't remember that game because I doubt it ever happened.

There was an incident where a black college player said something similar about a white player during a news conference when he didn't realize his microphone was on.
Not during a game. Not yelled at a white player. The team was out of the tournament at the time of so couldn't have been thrown out of the game.

Why seems to be a good question. Why did you get your facts wrong?

@parados,
Thanks for the further takes on that, parados. I'll rescind my "good grief" and replace it with, oh, my, still sort of amazed but now getting the context.

After reading up on it I withdraw my comment. It's just reporters looking to make a headline of nothing.

I will gladly and humbly apologize for making the assumption that your comment and post were politically motivated. As I stated in the post, I may be wrong about the intent (but doubted at the time that I was.) Evidently I was wrong and I am big enough to apologize for that. I have seen and read too many reports of people trying to politicize what is a difficult situation. I assumed you were doing so also. And for that I am sorry.

Your reply to my reply is most gracious. There's absolutely no need to apologize.

I was reacting emotionally. I should have calmed down and posted later.

Regarding the Governor's initial statement, there's much to be said for voice tone, body language, etc, as opposed to the bare display of words on a screen. No wonder there's misunderstanding.

Again, you are very kind to respond. You are to be commended for your civility. (You have more than I do at times.)

No, he wasnt . He was charged with the murder of nine people .

Do you react this way to other acts of terrorism, or is there something about this specific act of terrorism that makes you want to downplay it?

@Ionus,
Because Roof's stated intentions was to kill black people. He had a clear racist intent and wanted to make that clear so that people would understand his actions. By removing the racist part of the attack you are downplaying the most import aspect of it.

@engineer,
I'll bet you any money you like that he was charged with the murder of 9 people . The law does not distinguish between black or white . By removing the racist part of the attack I am going against his wishes but you go ahead and do what he wants . He is probably already a hero in the sick minds of racists courtesy of all the advertising . In Oz we have an agreement with the press that the race of the victim and the perp is to be left out .

@Ionus,
Ionus.

This attacker is a terrorist, by any rational definition of the word terrorist. He killed people with the interest of using fear to further his political agenda.

This isn't just a murder. This is an act of terrorism.

Was 9//11 just a murder to you?

@maxdancona,
Let's make this clear. Going into a house of worship and killing innocent people based solely on their race in an attempt to push a warped political agenda -- that's terrorism.

Refusing to refer to a man who goes into a house of worship and kills innocent people for a political cause as a terrorist because the attacker is white and Christian -- that's racism.

Terrorism is a crime.
