@BillRM,
Does this mean that if we send solders to Iraq that you and Finn will offer to go there to fight the war or will you do what old pricks like you always do and send some one else's kid to do the fighting and dieing.

@RABEL222,
So we can assume that if you have ever endorsed military action during your life, that you signed up and joined in?

If they could used a 66 years old on the battlefield why the hell not?

Hell if they would just give me a nice and fast course on flying the A10 I would pay them to fly that plane into combat.

Used to love "attacking" hot air balloons and doing "strafing" runs on boats out on Biscayne bay flying my MX ultralight. Also used to love paying a crop duster pilot to allow me to go along with him.

Hell I would bet that the government could sell hunting licenses to go over and take a ISIS trophy head to be mounted on your man cave at home.

For myself I could never bring myself to killed animals but ISIS type murderers I would not have a problem in the world to send them to their heaven.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Hell I enlisted being against the war in Viet Nam after my draft year with a high number. Just so I could have some standing in the discussion. I also believe in national service - not necessarily military.

You're a vet aren't you? Don't you feel a little weird being around cheesey little chicken hawks drum beating a war drum when they've never ever did anything that shows any love of nation at all? I don't consider reading blogs and parading around with a tea bag stapled on their tricorner, I'm sure thay you being a vet understand that, too.

It always surprises me how many teabillies act the act regarding military matters and foreign policy and then sheepshly admit that while they were knocking the living **** out the VA this and the VA that they hadn't "had the pleasure" to serve. That gets me. It WAS a pleasure to serve. Even more it was an honor. You know what I mean, right?

I haven't been but I did know a handful of names at the memorial. Pictures of it still catch my throat and water my eyes. You know how I feel.

It strikes me how stupid these last three wars were and you and I know what a horrible screw uo it was. My stepson spent most of five years there and got home in 2006 including 11 months "stop loss". He's still not right.

No more kids for anymore wars. You know what I mean, right?

@bobsal u1553115,
When the Roman republic was at it highest Roman senators was found on the battlefield as a matter of course.

When Roman was dealing with Hannibal over half of the Roman senators was killed!!!!!!!

Can not picture our congressmen paying that kind of price and our President was never a soldier either but that does not mean that we should not deal with a clear and present danger to the US.

An we do not have a system like Heinlein painted in his book "The StarShip Troopers" where you are not a citizen unless you risk your life for the state.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Where you fuked up is in assuming that I have backed wars. Since the Korean war I havent backed any wars except possibly the Afghan, and that conditionally. I voted in and out as soon as possible for all the good it did. All the wars we have been involved in were politically motovated wars for the enrichment of the already filthy rich who were at the tit of government. If the trillions we have spent on stupid wars were spent on infrastructure we would have probebly have full employment and that proverbial chicken in every pot.

@BillRM,
As soon as they attack the U S of A you can bet I'll have a gun in my hand protecting my country. But screw Iraq, Iran, Afghans, and all the rest of those countries who dont mean shyt to me and show how much they hate us. Just look at the foreign posters on this blog who blame us for all the woes of the world who are supposedly our allies. Just how much hate does it take to get the U S of A citizens attention?

@BillRM,
Reread the post. I said I believe in national service. Not necessarily military service.

So. How did you serve the nation, aside from ginning up war fever, "Senator" Bill?

I serve my country/nation by being a damn useful and taxpaying citizen all my life my friend and the same can be said for the last three of our Presidents for that matter all with little or no military background.

Sorry you do not have any more rights to express your feelings then I do or anyone else because you been in the military.

Maybe we should go to the Heinlein model but once more that is not our system and I have the same damn rights to express my opinions that you do.

footnote as far as putting my life on the line that is no big deal as I had placed myself in harm way many times for the fun of it.

@BillRM,
Feeling ashamed, eh? I can understand why.

They was joy or adventure anywhere on a battle field. If you were in my unit, I'd leep my eye on you and stand clear from. BillRamboRM. Has a nice ring to it even it it'd be a short one.

LOL why would I feel ashamed my silly friend?

Sorry we are not a south American military dictatorship where only people who are in uniform have any rights.

So you only have your military service to be proud of in your lifetime and need to claim some special standing due to it?

I am that is strange as I did not support the Vietnam war and did support the first gulf war but not the second.

Using military force need to have a goal and killing as many ISIS members as possible and doing our best to totally destroy them as an organization seems something that is both doable and that need doing.

I don't know which is more of an indication of your stupidity

That you read the following to mean I assumed you have backed wars (You do understand what the word "if" means don't you? It only has one syllable and two letter so I would have thought it wasn't too tough for you.

Or after contending that I "fuked" up by assuming you have backed wars proceeded to reveal that you have in fact supported two.

So the question is did you serve in the American military during either the Korean or Afghan Wars?

You are the liar, Rabel, you and your war crimes/terrorism loving ilk.

Remember what y'all have done to millions around the world who only wanted to share the American dream, the one y'all have turned into a sordid evil cesspool.
