The clown crew : from left to right ... the trendy red headed urban warrior, EhBeth .. the rogue cyclist BoGoWo .. special agent JoeBlow .. and the wrench of the crew.

Bo & EhB clearly have pizza pizza on the brain.

How adorable. JoeBlow should consider replacing Mikey for the Life cereal ads.

Wow! the wench is fast. I just got back after a quick fruit and veggie and ginger buying spring through Kensington with one of our other lunch companions - Nina. I am hoping to get Nina and/or Prabhu posting here.

Whatever those two empty dishes in front must have been real good. Other dishes seems hardly touched. Wink

Good gosh a mighty - we ordered way too much food, and then the restaurant gave us a big bowl of really nice clear soup, with a hunk of pork and some very nice bright carrot slices in it.

hmmmm, I lured JoeBlow in with the promise of steamed dumplings, so BoGoWo requested three orders of those! We each ordered a dish, and then shared round - hmmmmm, I ordered the '3 kinds of meat on rice' - I chose soy chicken, bbq pork and roast duck as the three meats. BoGoWo ordered a sizzling seafood hotplate - squid, scallops and ?. JoeBlow ordered one of the house specials - which is chicken breast stuffed with shrimp (and with some nice crisply steamed broccoli on top). Wenchilina ordered chicken with something. Prabhu ordered chicken with something. Nina ordered Singapore vermicelli with shrimp. A lot of food. I think Nina and Prabhu will be eating left-overs into at least Tuesday.

JoeBlow remembered that Diane had requested a toast - so a toast was made to Diane (and dys).

There was a bit of A2K chatter, and then it went into real-life talk.

The funniest bit, I thought, was that Nina and Prabhu were looking forward to meeting some more Canajuns (Nina's been in Canada about 18 months, and Prabhu about 4 months - they are their own wonderful love story) - but I was the only person born in Canada at the table! A classic Toronto get-together in that sense. Canajuns are from everywhere.

I've just uploaded my pix from my camera to the puter. Now to get them onto a site somewhere and then onto A2K. I've asked for a get-together album, to make it easier for JoeBlow to post them here.

Nina is one of my colleagues. She emigrated from Kiev in the Ukraine to Canada in the summer of 2002. She met Prabhu when he came to Kiev to work. He is originally from India, went to business school in the U.S. - has worked in the U.K., a number of African countries, and several of ex-Soviet Union countries. He has now come to Canada (he arrived a week before our office Christmas party) to be with Nina. <sigh> They are adorable.

I think we'll see Prabhu here sometime soon.

on my way to the get-together, i wandered through my beloved Kensington Market

one of my favourite signs in the market. as i look at the pic now, i realize it doesn't look like a particularly chinese-market neighbourhood

ok, if this doesn't work, i'll wait til there is an album

Tried to enlarge the thumbnail picture, but the dpi number was too small to enlarge without it getting real blurry. This is the best I can do.

Now I know why they call ya wench! Smile

I have six photo's worth sharing. If we get an album I'll attempt to have them included (or I can email them if anyone's interested).

Beth, thanks again for arranging the outing. It was a terrific lunch and an adventure for me. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you, bo, wenchie, prabhu and nina. I'd do it again in a minute.

(I LOVE steamed dumplings)

my compliments to wenchy, on her photo/digital efficiency (in spite of the fact that her own image seems a mite 'screened'?)!
