I am ordering a nice bag to cover my head before the Texans face New England.

@JPB,
Certainly surprised me....to the tune of a bunch of bad picks.

I didn't know what to do about the Packers-Vikings tie.
It was either give everyone half a point or no points.
I went with no points.

So there I was, whining to myself about recalcitrant football teams, putting desk paperwork in order so I can better avoid it, and deciding I need bread and started with making it. Also, cleaning out my big shop vacuum to give to the habitat people. (Yes, yes, washing hands in between).

In short order, the football world went to hell in a handbasket, my computer somehow lost its default mode for the safari toolbar (grrrr), the bread recipe didn't make sense, not listing water in the ingredients (I caught up, but in the confusion didn't even knead the sticky dough, just mixed it and let it rise as there was sure enough yeast), and I can't find the main curly tube for the shop vac. Yet. Somewhere in the garage.

The good news is the bread turned out - a recipe from whole paycheck market involving mixed wheat flours, honey, nuts (I used almonds), raisins, yeast, blah blah, and water.

Whatever will this all mean for the 49'ers? I think probably it means doom.

Wait, last time I looked the safari toolbar was still lolling bereft, but right now it's back.
Go, SF!

@panzade,
Alas, I like Washington too, the featherheads. Well, their coach is one, from time to time, using that pejoratively; the players I tend to get.

Before I get inundated, I respect the tribes. People with pillow brains get my goat.
I'd like to know what the tribes in my last place think about the redskin name..

OOPS! It was suggested that I review Rhys' email to me regarding his picks. He correctly chose St Louis. I recorded it incorrectly.
So...it appears that we have a six way tie for 1st this week. McGentrix, AndyD, George, Kolyo, JPB and Rhys are all 6-6 ahead of tonight's SF @ Wash game. I treated the Minn-GBay tie as a non-game.
We all have SF.

@Kolyo,
Indeed you did, Kolyo. I guess I hit "reply" before I finished writing the rest of the sentence: We all have SF, except Kolyo.
If Washington wins, Kolyo wins the week.
If San Francisco wins, we go to the tiebreaker. Rhys thinks the teams will combine for 40 points. McGentrix goes for 41, AndyD says 42 while George has 45 and JPB thinks 56. The dividing line between George and JPB is 50.5 points.

I checked out the weather forecasts for the home cities this week. I was surprised to see that conditions, despite the storm heading for the east coast, are looking pretty good.
Here in the mountains of VA lows are in the low 20's and we may get a mix of rain, sleet and snow around dawn tomorrow.
