But it became clear, from the cringe-filled 3 1/2 hours on national television to the sobering atmosphere in the locker room, that the Ravens' 49-27 loss was self-inflicted. The Broncos didn't beat them. The Ravens beat themselves.
In fact, the Ravens beat themselves up. They injured their own teammates -- twice. When you combine that with the dropped passes, the blocked punt and the miscommunication in the secondary, the Ravens should feel lucky they didn't get beat by more.
The whole episode with the dropped football during a too early celebration and its aftermath, ending with an injured needed Raven, is one for the books. Or at least blogs.

We didn't get to see the game out here. A storm came through a little before dark and knocked down the power line coming in here from Montana. Power company had to wait for daylight to get a chopper in the air to find out where the line was down. Got electricity back a little after noon today and found out we didn't miss a whole helluva lot. Hope to get my herd work done early enough on Sunday to watch a game or two.
