@BillRM,

Connecticut currently has a fairly strict ban on 'assault weapons'.

What makes any logical, rational person think additional 'gun control' would make a difference?

It's only logical to let the good guys with guns stop the evil guys with guns.

Your logic applied:

Maybe you should tell them it is in the interest of the country and the country's well-being if
they simply give up the right to bear arms despite the fact that the Constitution says what it says.

Damn, Man...you are d'man!

You got that right first time. (Did you have help?)

I guess that sounded good in your head and looked good as you typed it, but it's not rational.

Why not? If it's not rational it should be easy to explain why it isn't.

You lot would have counted Ms Lanza as a responsible etc gun owner three weeks back.

That sounds about right. The Constitution is a noose around your necks.

@Frank Apisa,

That means that you are OK with and support the constitution as written... that's excellent... my work with you is done.

@spendius,

His mom being a 'Ms' probably has more to do with his being evil than anything else.

Notice how Ms didn't go on a shooting spree.

@spendius,

Only if we try and change it and right now the noose is around Obama's and the anti-gun-owners necks

You mean that she was a responsible etc gun owner and can still be said to have been. But I must admit that I see your first point to some extent.

@spendius,
Ms was responsible and kept the guns locked up.
Her evil son murdered her so that he could gain access to the weapons.
A permanent father figure could have made all the difference.

Didn't lock'em up very well, ergo, not particularly responsible.

Although he'd already accessed at least one of them.

Not necessarily. The father in many homes can be a violent man and/or a man who teaches the child that guns are the solution to every problem.

@edgarblythe,
I'm a bit insulted by this. I think murder is wrong as well. Come on Edgar, be reasonable. Banning guns will not stop murder in our nation. Banning guns will not prevent criminals from attaining guns and committing murder.
And do you think if government were to outlaw all guns that they'd be successful in getting rid of all the guns? Before you think about it, consider how well they've done at keeping out drugs. Furthermore, if a highly stict ban is ensued, it'll be a failure like the alcohol prohibition. You just watch.
