@OmSigDAVID,
I don't think I should have to!!! That's such an easy inference to make!! A screwdriver can't fire bullets! Let alone fire hundreds in minutes! All you can do is beat someone with a screwdriver, but you can instantly kill someone with a gun. I can't even believe I have to explain this...

and COMPARE the 2 techniques of acquisition ??

Yes. Or rather, I had someone else tell me about his experiences and we compared them. He smokes both weed and cigarrettes. Weed is illegal, cigs are not. It is much easier for him to obtain the legal cigarrettes than it is for him to get the illegal weed.

Actually David's screwdriver is also a gun, as is his umbrella, egg whisk, coffee machine and g string.

Name me one even military fully auto rifle that can fire hundreds of rounds in a minute and not melt down.

Cycle rates in not the same as real world bullets down range and there are very few situations where going fully auto is a wise things to do.

Take note that the current US military rifle can only fired three rounds bursts.

You are the kind that likely does not even know what end of the rifle bullets come out of yet you are willing to post nonsense.

Right I know nothing about firearms such as even firing seven rounds from a 45 produce one hot gun let along "hundred" of rounds!!!!!!!!!!!

That even military crew service machine guns are fired in short burst mode and have barrels that can be change out with asbestos gloves due to the heat.

If you are not careful you can get rounds cooking off from the heat and just ruining your day.

If your goal is just to put a lot of metal down range over a short distance a pump shotgun is the way to go.

But you are right I know nothing about firearms....LOL

@BillRM,
You're right, I'm not an expert. But instead of searching the Internet (which can provide loads of false information), I asked an expert. He said it is possible to fire hundreds of rounds in a minute (depending on the type of gun.)

You're right, there aren't. But not everyone is a wise person. Maybe the next lunatic to decide to go shoot up a school will have his weapon on full automatic.

Bill was referring to automatic rifles,
not to Gatling Guns.

I surmise that u prefer that thay use bombs (sappers), anything like Tim McVeigh.
He got more severe casualties than gunners do.

Bombs r much faster n easier to make; all different chemical philosophies.
As kids, we made a lot of different kinds of bombs
in our backyards in Arizona, just to while away the time; fun.

We were already up to our necks in guns.
No harm ever came of it.

How would someone get full-auto out of a semi-auto-only gun?

Incidentally, if someone did manage such a trick, the end result would likely be a lot fewer people killed due to the shooter running out of ammo.

Ideally, there 'd be defensive gunfire
being directed at the enemy from several directions, from his intended victims.

LOL not even a water cool hundreds of pounds machine gun could do that.

Perhaps a two thousands pounds gratling gun mounted on a tank or a warplane might do so but even then I question it.

Once more cycle rate is not what can be fire from a weapon. You burst fired all machine guns.

No weapon that can be carry by a man could do so and if your expert claims otherwise he is no expert.

I think he spelled his name: Gatling.

@OmSigDAVID,
There was an interesting feechewer on Newsnight yesterday concerning the expertise of San Fransisco medical teams dealing with gunshot wounds. It almost seemed that the gangs were being supplied with guns in order to provide a large number of guinea pigs for the surgeons to practice on. Military medical experts are consulting them and it was presumed they would then be able to save lives on the battlefields.

Some of the scenes in the area reminded me of Soweto.

Gun Deaths Since Newtown Now Surpass Number of Americans Killed in Iraq

Quote:
The number of gun deaths in the U.S. since the Newtown elementary school massacre has exceeded the total number of U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war.

According to a tally of gun deaths from Slate, the number of people killed since the Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary is now 4,499. The number of U.S. armed forces killed during the Iraq war was 4,409, according to the Defense Department.

The Slate data comes from crowdsourcing and warns that it is “necessarily incomplete.” Authors of the tally call on readers to submit news stories to @GunDeaths.

This comparison of the five months since the tragedy that redefined the debate for further gun control in this country and the nine-year conflict the U.S. has recently ended is now being used by Americans United for Change, a progressive political group. Already, the group has targeted several Republican lawmakers, including Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, to support background checks, among other gun-control measures.

Republicans successfully stalled gun-control legislation, arguing that further measures would not prevent gun violence but merely stifle the Second Amendment rights of lawful Americans. But Democratic lawmakers and progressive groups have signaled that they will continue this fight.

Anyone else think that Bloomberg and Obama sent those letters to themselves as part of a desperate bid to try to revive their vile gun control legislation?

@revelette,
Conspiracies blossom when no evidence we can rely on is offered. It might only be that castor beans were rubbed on the papers. They say there are traces of cocaine on most circulating bank notes.
