I lived in Miami for a few years, but moved away before Andrew -Thank God!
Anyway, when Andrew hit, Miami was emerging from years of brutal bloody street violence... everybody had a gun and they were no longer taking **** from anybody. It is armed law abiding American citizens that kept the peace after the storm until help arrived and it took forever for help to arrive. If it were not for the armed law abiding American, Miami would have been overtaken by armed gangs and looters. Thank God for the Armed law abiding American citizen.
Drug gangs was the gang problem in the Miami area and they just like the drug gangs in Mexico do not give a **** about guns laws.
Greatly reduce violence and get rid of the police playing a US version of the SS all you need to do is to get rid of the so call war on drugs.
The damn federal government send in the Airborne after Andrew but did not allowed then to have bullets for their rifles and the Drug gangs love playing games with our young soldiers after that fact got out.
Yep, I heard first hand accounts from friends that rode the storm out.
Without brave law abiding armed Americans performing their
civic duty the terrible disaster would have only gotten worse.
I certainly can tell the difference, it's the under informed like yourself
that is clueless... you would become just another statistic in short order.

Rather than actually dealing with that, H2O, I will simply use it as an opportunity to say again:
It is obvious there are people who are psychologically unfit for gun ownership...and while I, too, question some of the proposed "gun control" legislation, at very least our legislators should be able to devise a certification path that determines who should be prevented from owning guns.
