I read this yesterday. Sorry for this man's death and it is ironic that he died in such a violent way. Wonder if we'll ever know the circumstances.

Self-professed 'gun nut' Keith Ratliff found fatally shot in the head in suspected homicide

Quote:

In a rather macabre bit of irony, a self-professed "gun nut" who was a YouTube channel producer for fellow gun enthusiasts was found fatally shot in the head in his Carnesville, Ga., home on Jan. 3. Police are investigating the case as a homicide.

Keith Ratliff, 32, was a channel producer for the popular FPSRussia firearms channel on YouTube, according to FoxNews.com. The channel boasts 3.4 million subscribers and has more than 537 million video views. The videos largely consist of a man with a Russian accent test firing various high-powered firearms. The channel is ranked as one of the top 10 channels on YouTube.

@jcboy,

It's been posted here before.

Reports say the guy was tied up in a chair and executed by an evil person or persons with guns.

It's ironic that Obama has no plan to deal with evil criminals, he would rather disarm law abiding Americans.

kudos to Mr. James for finally coming to his senses...

Yes. He must have visualised the one-at-once execution of those kids over 10 minutes rather than thinking of the event in some sort of cloudy, abstracted never-never land from which it is relatively easy to distance oneself.

@spendius,

It's a shame Mr. James allowed himself to be bullied, I'm sure he will regret it for the rest of his days.

That may well be, H2O...but from what I have been reading here...and from events out in the real world...apparently they are not working.

Perhaps, as some of you suggest, they CANNOT work, but perhaps they need to be tweaked and made more forceful.

There is, as I have mentioned myself, the possibility that NO LAWS will ever successfully impact on the number of mass shootings we have in this country...but that does not mean we ought not to try to deal with the problem.

The only alternative is to throw up our hands and say we can do nothing...which seems ridiculous to me.

If history is any indication...it most likely will have been one of those "law abiding Americans" who did it. It is the supposedly law-abiding, decent citizens...the ones you say have an absolute right to own weapons...who commit most of these killings.

The day they allow anyone to carry a gun where our child goes to school is the day he starts being home schooled!

The only way the NRA plan would work is if each student had their own armed deputy to stay with them at all times; of course, the NRA would just love that! Idiots!

NRA Proven Wrong as Armed Deputy on Campus Couldn’t Prevent CA School Shooting

Quote:
So much for the NRA’s talking points on armed patrols putting an end to gun violence in schools. Vice President Joe Biden’s presentation on how the Obama administration plans to address gun violence in the United States was interrupted today by news of yet another school shooting. This one happened in a school that has “a uniform deputy sheriff monitoring campus ‘before, during and after school.’”

@H2O MAN,
I think you will agree with me, H2O, that there most likely will be other mass shootings in America during the years to come...and it is almost certain that they will be committed by someone you now consider a decent, law-abiding American who is entitled to buy and possess guns.

@Frank Apisa,

FrankA, it sounds like you want to say 'stop', but just a little louder now.

When will you get that criminals don't care how the law is worded or what the punishment is.

The only thing criminals worry about is armed law abiding citizens, they pay attention to them.

@Frank Apisa,

Historically speaking, there have been more shooting sprees under Obama's watch
than any other president and he seems motivated to make it easier for these events
to occur. So, yes I do think we will see more of this during Obama's reign of power.

Neither Biden nor Obama will come up with a solution... the feds will not come up with a solution.
The solution is with the individual states and the private sector, local people dealing with local issues.
The feds need to get out of the way.

Nope...I am not suggesting we just say, "STOP."

What I am saying is that the next mass shooting will, like the previous mass shootings, be perpetrated by someone you now consider a decent, law-abiding American whose rights to own guns should not be violated.

You seem unwilling to deal with that, H2O.

Why not give it a try?

Are you sure there have been more under Obama's watch than under any other president? Do you have some evidence of that...that you would like to share.

I do agree with you, however, that we will more than likely see more during the next several years...and for decades thereafter.

Almost everyone of which will be committed by someone you now consider a decent, law-abiding American whose right to own guns is inviolate.

No law abiding American citizen has perpetrated such an act under
Obama's watch, why do you believe that will suddenly change?

Meh. Go ahead and make sure all the children are defenseless.

Won't be my problem when they get massacred.

Obama's track record indicates that he somehow feeds off of mayhem.

5 of the nation's 12 deadliest shootings actually occurred during Obama's first term.

If none of us can be trusted to own firearms by that logic then none of us can be trusted to have gasoline or everyday household materials that can be turn into an IED.

Yes, as long as humans are humans there will be mass killings from time to time as a result of sick people such as the chairman of the school board blowing up his school and killing the most children in a school mass killings in the US history.

Or a few dollars of gasoline that ended up killing 97 people in an after hour night club.

I guess we will need to go back to the cave and burn all books and end all technology down to how to produce bronze edge weapons.

@Val Killmore,
You have to be careful comparing country crime rates. They often classify crimes differently and collect data differently.

No "law-abiding American citizen" ever perpetrated such an act...under any president...and none ever will.

I referred to WHAT YOU NOW CONSIDER a decent law-abiding American.

Why do you keep asking questions without answering a few?

Don't have the stomach for it...or you just realize that the questions do not have reasonable answers?
