@oralloy,
Sure... a single armed guard would be able to stop anyone showing up...

I thought it might have been a universal Christian value but I was not certain.

@Region Philbis,
I'm sure you intended to point out that there was one less criminal on the planet...

According to police officials, Spangler has a lengthy criminal record, including a conviction for murdering his own grandmother in 1980.

@reasoning logic,
I don't know if that's a Christian value, but it's certainly an American value.

Well if you ask any Christian I think that they may tell you that America was founded on Christian values.

@H2O MAN,

not at all.

anyone sick enough to ambush and murder two fire fighters in the line of duty is a hell of a lot more than a common criminal.

this guy was a ******* menace to society -- i'm glad he can't kill anyone else.

tighter gun control legislation might have prevented him from having a gun in the first place...

Yes as he could not then buy a firearm privately avoiding all checks and in fact if he was a felon already that is how he is likely to have had a firearm in the first placed.

You are as likely to block someone from buying a firearm by having laws as you are to block someone from buying illegal street drugs due to the laws that address that area of life.

@Region Philbis,
You experienced a moment of clarity, but it vanished when you closed with the following:

Criminals ignore legislation, rules, laws and the like... that's why they call them 'criminals'.

Who says it has to be a single guard? And what about all the guns carried by teachers?

And regardless, even if it is possible for a defense to fail, it is still a lot better than having no defense at all.

How many parts are there in an AR-15. Where are the parts manufactured?

No idea. Sorry.

Okay. How many parts are there in an AR-15 and are any of them made abroad?

@oralloy,

Clearly, the liberal left nut jobs would rather have children and others murdered than
honor the US Constitution. The left wants to prevent citizens from defending themselves.

@spendius,

Once again, there are many manufactures of many different
AR-15s, you need to be much more specific with your questions.

@oralloy,
Sure, that's why we think every nation should have nuclear weapons. It's the best defense against nuclear weapons. Or maybe it would be better if they weren't armed in that fashion in the first place. It would certainly be a lot safer.

How many basic parts are there and are any imported for assembly in the US? That's specific. Are any assembled models imported?

The parts for cars are imported from all over the world. They are then assembled in car plants and not, strictly speaking, manufactured.

You're asking the wrong person. I have no expertise on the detailed internals of the AR-15. I might be able to cover the basics of how they operate verses other types of actions, but that's about it.

Thus the NRA's position that felons should be prevented from acquiring guns.

The term "AR-15" covers a lot of different guns from a lot of different manufacturers. And likely there is a different answer for each one of them as far as number of parts. Likely also a different answer for each one of them regarding imports.

And thus the NRA has a position that does nothing to prevent mass shootings.

Not all those of the left wish to be disarmed as being armed is useful in case the far right someday get away with their many attempts to removing the right to vote of those on the left.
