Arizona Won’t Grant Licenses to Immigrants in Obama Program

Aug. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Young immigrants authorized to work in the U.S. under a new federal program won’t be able to get driver’s licenses in Arizona.
Republican Governor Jan Brewer issued an executive order saying state law bars benefits or state-issued identification for those in the country illegally -- including those who qualify for the deferred-enforcement program announced by President Barack Obama in June, which kicked off yesterday. She directed agencies to block access for an estimated 80,000 immigrants in Arizona who may qualify.

@Lustig Andrei,
To me, this is the height of insanity. The Federal government is willing to recognize the right of these people to work and remain in the US; but Jan Browbeater decides it doesn't apply to Arizona. This is just crazy. In those SW states, you ain't got wheels, you ain't going to work. Or anyplace else. Nuts.

@Lustig Andrei,
Bigotry now shows its ugly face in the open, and that's not the worst of it when the conservatives are now suppressing voters in many states.

That Romney would even use the word "hate" against Obama belongs on the history books of this country to record how far politics have fallen in this country.

How is it possible that so-called conservatives who must have a conscience allows their party to take such actions against minorities without speaking out against it?

Are they so hungry for power that everything else that matters as a Constitutional Republic can be trashed. Where are the good people of their party? Are there any?

It seems humorous that supporters of obama get near hysterical at the thought
that he will lose the votes of illegal aliens, if voters r legally required to present fotografic id. at the polls.

Multiple be the chuckles.
We shud have done this sooner.

@OmSigDAVID,
Fraud has never been proven. You are one ignorant conservative.

That you use words like "hysterical" shows you have no idea about most things.

The only hysteria I will show is to tell you to shove it up your arse.

It IS the height of insanity
to allege that illegal aliens have what Andy claims is "the right"
to work and remain in the US. Where did that "RIGHT" that Andy alleges come from???????

The Governor is doing a very fine job
of harrassing these criminals by objectively applying extant Arizona law;
if we make it sufficiently unpleasant,
then we can expect them to head back down South of the Border,
down Mexico way.

A President is required by Article II Section 3 of the Constitution
to: "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed". He has failed
to enforce the law against illegal aliens; instead, he has become their accomplice.
Accordingly, obama shud be impeached. I 'll mention it to my Congressman, Republican Bob Turner.
That woud be fun, if I got him impeached; maybe we can do it during the Democratic National Convention.

@OmSigDAVID,
All of you conservatives are nut cases; suppressing voters, over-riding the President on immigration, advocating to make a fetus a personhood to make all forms of abortion illegal, and continue to discriminate against seniors, women, and minorities.

You SOB's must be proud Americans! Your on the way to destroying it.

There you go again, painting with your broad brush.
ALL conservatives don't support everything the repubs are doing, just like ALL liberals don't support everything Obama is doing, do they?
