@mysteryman,
Huh? Most European and Asian immigrants when they arrived on our shores did not speak English. What's your point?

I think this choice is hateful and small minded. That said, I don't believe it violates the US Constitution, since driver IDs are issued at the state level. If other states do allow immigrants driver IDs, AZ will be forced to recognize them.

I hate this, but without a better knowledge of the AZ Constitution, I don't know that the EO violates the power of her office.

@failures art,
You're probably right on the facts, but considering how the AZ gov has shown her bigoted character, it's not a question of legal.

She is doing the best she can

@cicerone imposter,
You can dress it up all you want, call it whatever you want, but it comes down to this...anyone in this country ILLEGALLY is breaking the law.
As such, they should not be rewarded by being allowed to get a drivers license, vote, attend public schools, or do anything else that is paid for by our tax dollars.

You've got a lot of gall whining about people who are doing jobs that most Americans wouldn't touch.

You have even more gall talking about people going into a country ILLEGALLY. That's the US's raison d'etre. The immigrants in the US aren't bombing the **** out of Americans, spreading WMDs far and wide, rousting people out of their homes, gunning down innocent civilians, stealing Americans' wealth, ... .

Is hypocrisy added to your water supply?

Can you please cite the specific law that makes illegal?

They are deportable under the law but I am unclear what crime they are committing and which court they are charged in.

Anyone who is in the country illegally has no right to anything here except deportation.

@parados,
Lets start with federal law...

http://codes.lp.findlaw.com/uscode/8/12/II/VIII/1325

The federal law is quite clear.

@mysteryman,
Well, that was a quick answer.

Notice that what our President has done has not changed the law. He is declining to enforce or prosecute violations.

He is required by Article 2 Section 3 of the Constitution
to: "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed".
He has defaulted in his responsibility, the same as not showing up for work.
On Monday, I 'll call my Republican Congressman and try
to get him impeached. Y not ??

Thank u. I 'll take your exhortation to heart! We 'll learn about that.

I 'll tell them that we have C. I. 's support.

I wonder if we can do it during the Democratic National Convention,
just to break up the monotony.

Excellent point, parados. That a person is in this country illegally makes him/her subject to deportation. It does not in any way curtail their rights as visitors from another country.

What's next for AZ? Driver IDs for US citizens only? Don't show me your Green Card, pal, you ain't no citizen and you ain't driving in this state.
